In a devastating loss to Republicans and their hold on the Senate, not to mention the morale of average conservative Americans, Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed won his race for Michigan’s open Senate seat against Republican challenger Mike Rogers, a former representative backed by conservatives and many of the state’s more moderate Democrats.
In the wake of the announcement of that victory, Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed took to the stage to give a speech in which he used various Arabic-language terms to describe the transition that will come with his victory and his filling the seat being vacated by retiring Democratic Senator Gary Peters.
Speaking during that victory speech, the infamously socialist-minded and Muslim candidate said, “Up until right about now, you might have noticed I always say ‘inshallah,’ or ‘God willing,’ whenever the outcome of this race was mentioned.” He continued, “But today, tonight, we can turn that inshallah into alhamdulillah!” He then said, “For the right-wing ops, that just means ‘praise be to God.'” Inshallah, for reference, means “God willing”.
Senator-elect El Sayed also took a potshot at President Trump for intentionally misnaming him and calling him “Mohammed.” El Sayed said, commenting on that and mocking Trump and Vance, “Donald, I know you struggled with my name.” He added, “So after JD swears me in in January, you can just go on and call me ‘Senator.'”
Conservative commentators on a clip of the speech that went viral on X were quick to point out what they is going on and what this shows, saying things like “Leftists used to care about secularism until they realized political power ran through third world Muslims” and “Is it the new official language in Michigan? If you don’t respect yourselves, people will use you.” Another joked, “at least he’s already teaching us Arabic before he even takes office. I guess that’s nice.”

Another post, this one from a poster on X who called himself a “Normal Republican” featured a clip of Adbul El-Sayed’s victory speech and said, “Abdul El-Sayed proudly introduces himself as Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, America’s first Muslim senator, and then starts speaking in Arabic. Americans better brace themselves. The communist and Islamic takeover has officially begun. They’re going to get exactly what they just asked for.”
Similarly, another individual posted the same clip and captioned it by writing, “And so it f-cking begins. Rubbing his hands together with glee. With a huge smile on his face he introduces himself as Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, speaks to the crowd in Arabic. Abdul won. America lost.”
Also chiming in was Eric Daugherty, who breathlessly declared, “MI Senate victor Abdul El Sayed walked out and went FULL ISLAM MODE, immediately saying “my name is Abdulrahman Mohamed El Sayed” and “inshallah” “We can turn that inshallah into [foreign speak]!” The “Abdul!” chants sound entirely foreign. WE ARE BECOMING AN OCCUPIED NATION! Notice how open and happy he is about going full invader now that he won. MICHIGAN MADE A BIG MISTAKE”
