JUST IN: MAGA Patriot Appears to Have Replaced Anti-Trump RINO in Deep Red District

In one Congressional win for the Make America Great Again movement to kick off the midterms night, it is projected that Republican candidate Ed Gallrein has won Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District, defeating his Democratic challenger and replacing the former holder of the seat, libertarian-minded Republican-turned-RINO Rep. Thomas Massie.

As background. Massie made himself an enemy of Trump by having a total meltdown in the wake of the 2025 strikes on Iran’s nuclear program and the somewhat botched release of the Epstein files, and ended up becoming a fully anti-Trump congressman who frequently allied himself with Democrats over the course of 2026, particularly once the Iran War began.

This meant that Rep. Massie was often not just criticizing the president on matters related to Israel, Iran, and Epstein, but was also going after the president for such subjects as immigration, and refusing to support many of Trump’s anti-illegal alien initiatives. This made him noxious not just to the President and his administration, but to his constituents, who voted him out after a bitter primary.

Replacing the libertarian-minded RINO was Ed Gallrein, a much more staunchly pro-MAGA conservative known for his fierce loyalty to President Trump and his service record as a Navy SEAL. He ran against a Democrat named Melissa Strange, the overwhelming favorite of Democrats in the district, and appears to have won by quite a wide margin.

He appears to have won that race, as of the time this article was written at 6:00 pm CST on Tuesday, November 3, as was announced on X (formerly Twitter) by the Overton news account. It said, “JUST IN: Republican Ed Gallrein wins Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District, defeating Democrat Melissa Strange. Massie’s old seat stays RED.”

Continuing, that account wrote, “Gallrein, a former Navy SEAL recruited by Trump, knocked off Thomas Massie in the May primary 54.9% to 45.1%…Massie had held the seat since 2012. Keep in mind, Trump won this district by 35 points in 2024. Strange took the Democrat primary with 72.4%.”

Similarly, Matt Forney, a pro-Trump account, wrote, “Ed Gallrein, the man who humiliated Thomas Massie, has been declared elected.” He added, “I calmly explained to Cassandra MacDonald (nee Fairbanks) months ago that Gallrein had no chance of losing due to the district’s heavy red tilt. Congratulations to Congressman Ed Gallrein!”

Another account, reacting to the news that Gallrein was the projected winner, wrote, “Ed Gallrein WINS His Race in Kentucky District 4! It turns out, Republicans in his district saw through the stunt loser Thomas Massie pulled by recruiting Libertarian Jeremy Todd to split the vote, hoping to flip the seat blue. CONGRATULATIONS CONGRESSMAN-ELECT ED GALLREIN!”

Adding a bit more context to the victory, The Patriot Oasis X account wrote, “Trump carried this Northern Kentucky district by 35 points in 2024, and the general election result keeps it firmly red. Strange won her Democratic primary with 72.4% but could not overcome the district’s fundamentals. The KY-04 result is the first House call.”
