Democrats Go to Court to Demand Illegal Aliens Be Allowed to Vote

Democratic politicians, states, and judges are now essentially arguing that since elections are left to the states to run, blue states should have the right to allow illegal aliens to cast ballots in federal elections, even if doing so is in violation of federal law. The case they are making is that since the Constitution doesn’t forbid it, then anyone should be able to enter the country and vote without any restrictions.

It all started from a July 16 letter to California Secretary of State Shirley Weber from the Department of Homeland Security, which stated that a “preliminary review” there “may be as many as 190,832 non-citizens registered to vote” in her state. Weber was initially skeptical of the claim. The Justice Department gave Weber and Los Angeles County’s top election official, Dean Logan, 48 hours to determine if any of the people on the government’s lists were citizens.

Both refused to comply with the DOJ’s demands, which led to the agency asking a federal judge to issue a temporary restraining order requiring them to obey the order, however, U.S. District Judge David O. Carter, an appointee of former President Bill Clinton, shot that down earlier this week in a scathing opinion that ultimately supports illegal aliens having an opportunity to vote in American elections.

“Never before in American history has the federal government, on the eve of an election, sought to coerce a state and local government to abandon their own Constitutional election procedures and bend to the will of the Executive Branch,” the judge wrote in his opinion. “This request violates longstanding constitutional principles mandating that states have control over their elections.”

“If Plaintiff’s last-minute request for relief were granted, either party could create chaos for its own political purposes to disrupt the election process. Over 20,000 registered Californians would potentially lose the right that generations of Americans have fought to preserve,” the judge continued. Earlier in the ruling the judge wrote about how African-Americans and women were denied the right to vote in our nation’s past.

What wasn’t mentioned is that African-Americans and women are legal American citizens, thus should not have been denied the right to vote. Illegal aliens are not citizens, obviously, thus they do not have the right to participate in federal elections. “African-Americans and women of all ethnicities were denied access to the ballot,” he continued.

“Their push to be recognized as equal citizens of this nation led to the Fifteenth Amendment in 1870 and the Nineteenth Amendment in 1920, which declared that the right to vote could not be denied due to someone’s race or gender. But these amendments did not guarantee all citizens’ enfranchisement in practice. Minority communities continued to fight for suffrage. Poll taxes, literacy tests, and other obstacles were further used to prevent individuals from casting their vote,” the opinion said.

Folks had strong reactions to Judge Carter’s opinion, with some suggesting that states that try to justify the allowance of illegal aliens to vote in federal elections should have federal funds or even their statehood stripped away as a result. “The constitution clearly forbids it. The imbeciles just pretend to not understand what ‘republic style government’ means,” a person wrote on X.
