A video is going viral on social media platform X showing an attorney with a backbone of steel refusing to bow down to Greens Senator Steph Hodgins-May after she calls his law firm and attempts to force him to apologize for calling her a “stupid b***h” in an online comment. Rather than apologize, he actually bows down. The story in question took place in Australia.
The video clip only shows us the conversation from May, who is the deputy leader of the Australian Greens, but that side gives us a clear indication of how that discussion went and it was most definitely not what Hodgins-May was expecting. The woke mobs around the world are beginning to receive pushback from regular folk who are tired of living in an overly sensitive and overly politicized society.
“My name’s Senator Steph Hodgins-May. This morning I woke to a deeply offensive comment on one of my Instagram posts from you, and I just was curious to know whether this sort of behavior is something that’s tolerated by your law firm, and whether you think that it’s acceptable to use this sort of violent language towards women,” she started after the attorney answered the phone.
The lawyer apparently asks Hodgins-May what he said in the comment. “You stupid b***h!” she told him. He then hit her with a response she didn’t see coming. “You don’t think that’s violent language? Would you call your daughter a stupid b***h, or your female colleagues a stupid b***h? You may. In the aftermath of a violent attack against a female politician last week, you think it’s appropriate?” she asked.
“You say you don’t think calling someone a stupid bitch is a violent attack. This is appalling. You do not. Okay. Well, would you be comfortable speaking to the media, sharing that opinion? But you’re happy to say it to a woman on their social media platform in a very public way to call them a stupid b***h. Would you say you would talk to your children like that? Your daughters, your wife, your colleagues. Approving, appalling,” she said as the clip came to an end.
Folks had a lot to say about the way Hodgins-May handled the situation, with most people not falling on her side of the matter. “The attempted framing by her here is so revealing. If that language is ‘violent’ then this was an ‘attack’ and she is the ‘victim’ of it. A whole dialog and action chain opens up for her if you’d JUST accept that little bit of framing; deny her it, she has nowhere to go,” one user said.
“Attempted public shaming is literally the only tactic women understand. appeals to logic and reason? A private conversation to discuss the matter? No, they will simply try to enlist everybody in the room (or the world) to scold you. ‘naughty boy! no sex for you from all of us!!'” someone else said in a comment on the post.
