“TDS Is Incurable”: Another Actor Faces MAGA’s Fury After He Says He’s “Hoping for a Massacre” of Republicans in the Midterms

Yet another Oscar-winning Hollywood actor has spoken out against President Donald Trump. This time it’s Fatal Attraction actor Michael Douglas, who said he’s not dreaming of a white Christmas, but an electoral “massacre” for Trump in the upcoming U.S. midterm elections. Douglas is well-known for his roles in Basic Instinct and Ant-Man.

“I’m hoping for a massacre, and we’ll see… overwhelming Democratic votes across the board,” Douglas said in an interview with the BBC’s Today program. The appearance is part of his tour of the UK to promote his new autobiography One Helluva Ride. Douglas told the outlet that President Trump has “exhausted his promises.”

“The president has exhausted his promises and repetitions, and we’re seeing areas, especially in the Midwest, that haven’t been Democratic in years,” he went on to say during the interview. “Obviously, Congress is going to change and I think – it wasn’t thought possible until recently – that the Senate will too.”

According to a report from Breitbart News, Douglas, a longtime donor and supporter of the Democratic Party, supported former President Joe Biden, despite the evidence demonstrating he was not fit, physically or mentally, for the job. The report points out that the Falling Down star is about to apply that same logic and reasoning to forecast that Democrats are going to restart investigations into allegations of corruption and cronyism against the president and his allies.

In order for that to happen, Republicans would have to lose control of Congress, which would open up doors of opportunity for Democrats to issue subpoenas for the claims made against the president. “They’ve got a pretty good plan as to what they want to do, and it doesn’t mean indicting the president immediately,” Douglas said in the interview.

I think they hear the people talk, and they’re going to work on these issues of affordability, if there is this dramatic change,” he continued. “Then, I think they’re going to start handpicking the people around Trump, the people that made a lot of money… there’s a lot of corruption issues, and they’re going to start to one-by-one pick them off.”

Later in the interview, the BBC asked Douglas if he was concerned about the way his support and that of his Hollywood colleagues might be used by Trump and his supporters to paint them as out of touch with American voters. “I haven’t really felt that because the reason that he achieves such a degree of success was that he was a major television star on The Apprentice … 12 years he was, like, a leading star,” he stated.

“Everybody knew him, and it reflected exactly into his image as the president. ‘You’re fired, I’m the boss’, and that’s why people loved him. Yeah, we’re a liberal-bent party, and people like Bobby De Niro and some others have no problem telling him how he feels. But I haven’t felt that personal attack, no,” he explained to the BBC.
