Sydney Sweeney Recreates Classic “Home Alone” Scene for Steamy, Playful New Ad

Housemaid star Sydney Sweeney is making headlines for an advertising campaign, again, for the third time in a year and a half, though this time, she’s helping folks get into the Christmas spirit a little early this year with a little help from Home Alone main character Kevin McCallister. Sweeney recreated several of the most memorable moments from the Christmas classic to promote Syrn, her lingerie and loungewear brand.

At the start of the video, Sweeney stands in front of a bathroom mirror sporting a plunging navy blue top under a cropped cardigan sweater, her iconic blonde hair hanging loose in waves. The Euphoria star then splashed some liquid on her face before slapping her cheeks to recreate the most famous scene from the film when Kevin uses his dad’s aftershave for the first time.

Sweeney continues the Christmas tribute in a different scene where she’s sporting a burgundy loungewear set while holding an adorable white dog. A shadowy figure appears behind a curtain as the actress’ eyes grow wide in alarm, in a nod to the home invasion storyline of the original movie. Later in the ad, Sweeney is enjoying a massive ice cream sundae like the one Kevin eats in the movie.

According to Fox News, Syrn captioned the video on Instagram, “The Holiday Shop is officially open ♥️ Shop Hibernation Nation early access NOW.” It didn’t take long for the ad to catch the attention of folks online, with many of them catching the Home Alone references right off the bat. “I just realized that this is a reference to the movie Home Alone,” one person remarked.

“Who on earth would leave Sydney Sweeney home alone this Christmas? 😱 😅,” another person wisecracked, adding a very appropriate hands-on-face emoji. A third said, “Home Alone Syd! These are the best.” Some social media users focused on the products being advertised in the commercial. “Man she’s so pretty, idc what anyone says, and I do want this setttt,” another person wrote.

“The SYRN team is so underrated 🫡great job once again,” another stated. The Home Alone tribute is one installment of several from Syrn’s holiday campaign that is taking inspiration from several Christmas classics. In an earlier ad, Sweeney caused no small amount of controversy by modeling looks that were inspired by Cindy Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

The Syrn brand was officially launched in January, taking Sweeney’s career beyond Hollywood. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Sweeney talked about the approach she’s taking in creating lingerie for different body types. “My designers are all women, and I have an amazing diverse team,” she said to the magazine.

“My models are a beautiful range of body types. I’m always like, ‘I want to see it on every body.’ I can’t be the only model. I need to make sure everyone feels really good in it,” she went on to explain in the interview. “If I wouldn’t wear it, I wouldn’t want to make it.” She then said, “In sixth grade, I was a 32 DD, and I remember going to the store to get my first wire bra. It was silk and the only bra I felt good in. I literally wore it to the point that it had holes in it.”
