Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds is taking a lot of heat from radical leftists and Democrats after he repeatedly referred to a transgender woman as “sir,” even after the individual corrected him. Keep in mind, this is a biological man who claims to be a female. Jessica Kelly, a political content creator, shared a video of the encounter on Facebook that included the caption “Byron Disrespects a Trans Veteran Woman.”
Donalds got into a heated conversation with the transgender person during his statewide bus tour for governor as the election is just days away. The individual, an as-yet-unidentified activist, pressed Donalds about a political mailer that the activist considered to be anti-trans. “Something that really upset me as a member of the LGBTQ community: there is no trans agenda. I know. I’m trans,” the individual said at the start of the confrontation.
“I don’t have any agenda, but I do see an agenda with the Epstein files. I see a massive cover-up. How do you plan on protecting children if you are being endorsed by somebody that’s covering up the Epstein files?” the activist continued. Donalds started to answer the question, but was quickly interrupted by the activist who corrected him for not addressing them as a “ma’am.”
According to a report from The Advocate, the person said, “I am not a sir, I am a ma’am.” The Republican candidate then replied, “As a member of Congress, I voted to release those files,” referring to his support of a bill that required the Justice Department to release records connected to deceased convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Several other people also expressed frustration with Donalds for using the phrase “sir” when addressing the activist. One person asked him, “Are you f—-ing kidding me? Calling her sir? What the f— is wrong with you?” Donalds fired back, “I’m listening to the voice, and I hear a sir. I’m sorry.” The activist said, “Yeah ’cause you don’t see the rest of me.”
He then insisted they return to the question, but addressed the individual as “sir” once again. “Sir, we are talking about a trans agenda.” The person replied, “Sir, again.” Wasting no time, Donalds said, “Yes.” And that’s when the activist apparently had enough and decided, in a rather gruff manner, to end the conversation.
“Okay ma’am, f–k off,” the individual stated as they walked away. Donalds has faithfully advocated against allowing minors to undergo “gender-affirming care,” which more often than not involves irreversible surgeries such as the removal of genitalia or breasts, along with hormone therapy. He also supported efforts to move the Naples Pride drag show inside, where young children wouldn’t be so openly exposed to sexual deviance and nudity.

President Donald Trump has given Donalds his official endorsement and recently spoke at a campaign event for him that was held at the Florida Gulf Coast University’s Alico Arena, located in the city of Fort Myers. The rally comes as Donalds and his Democratic Party opponent for the governor’s mansion, David Jolly, gear up to go head-to-head on November 3.
