Actress Natasha Lyonne caused liberals to blow their tops after she appeared to express a preference for President Donald Trump over Vice President JD Vance, along with heaping some praise on billionaire tech guru Elon Musk. The actress, most well-known for her roles in “American Pie” and “Russian Doll” reacted to a video clip showing a protester interrupting the vice president and calling for the release of the Epstein files.
Lyonne then slammed Vance while saying she preferred Trump over him. “Sketchy mofo – prefer Trump – this s— is even scarier – don’t really know how we arrived at this aesthetic as baseline normal, but c’est la dominoes, etc. Octavia Butler was a soothsayer. Grimey times,” Lyonne stated in her response to the video.
Her comment that she would “prefer Trump” is what really grabbed people’s attention and prompted many online to start asking Lyonne, 47, about her political views. Some on the platform immediately assumed the comment meant that she supported Trump, while others suggested she was just expressing a preference for Trump over Vance, not that she was a particularly big fan of either one.
However, according to Fox News, the “Orange is the New Black” star further sparked speculation about her political leanings when she reposted a message from President Trump thanking Elon Musk for pledging to donate SpaceX stock to millions of children in America through Trump accounts. She also included four emojis — a rocket, saluting face, sun, and smiling face with sunglasses — with no further explanation.
“Natasha Lyonne going full MAGA is depressing as hell,” one user said about the posts. Another commenter made fun of the backlash Lyonne was receiving, saying, “Natasha Lyonne drops four emojis on a Trump post and the left is already planning her cancellation. Tolerance at its finest.” Someone else wrote, “Everyone prefers Trump – we all voted for him.”
One user said, “Why is this controversial? Do you say people supporting Dems is controversial?” While there were many individuals who were quick to leap to conclusions about where Lyonne stands politically, some folks expressed fundamental common sense and cautioned everyone not to assume the actress’s politics from a few posts.
One user responded, “‘Prefer Trump’? Why? …” Others asked why the post was being interpreted as full-on support for President Trump. Another commenter defended the actress, writing, “Can people on this app be normal for like five minutes … this is crazy, I feel like I’m going insane. Is everyone okay?” One user asked, “So is Natasha Lyonne MAGA now or am I misreading her posts?”

Later on, Lyonne addressed the controversy head on with just two short words. “Not MAGA,” she said. Fox News Digital reached out to both Lyonne and the White House for comment, but as of this writing, no replies have been issued. Conservatives have often pointed out the hypocrisy of the left for claiming to be tolerant of other people, while at the same time having no tolerance at all for those who hold different political beliefs.
