Elon Musk is reportedly in the process of creating his own city outside Austin, Texas where he has various faciities dedicated to his many ventures. Employees and executives from SpaceX, Tesla, and The Boring Company already live and work in the area and Musk sees them all moving to the new city as it develops.
“The town is known as Snailbrook, a reference to the Boring Company’s snail mascot,” the Daily Caller wrote, citing a report in the Wall Street Journal. “Bastrop County officials have approved at least three street names referencing the Boring Company, county meeting documents reviewed by the outlet show,” it added.
So far, both SpaceX and The Boring Company are in the process of building facilities located adjacent to Snailbrook, which is situated some 35 miles outside of the Texas capital. According to some courses and Facebook images, modular homes, a pool, a gym and an outdoor sports area are already present on site.
Musk has recently purchased several thousand acres himself – an estimated 6,000 or so – and another 3,500 through LLCs with his approval. Details are limited at this time as NDAs limit what sellers and local officials are allowed to discuss.
Musk has also said he intends to build a residence just outside the new community as well.
The Daily Caller continued:
Bastrop County has not received an application from Musk or his associates to incorporate the area. A town needs at least 201 residents to apply, and a county judge must approve the application.
Executives from the Boring Company, such as president Steve Davis, have described bigger ambitions to eventually build a city, according to sources and texts reviewed by the WSJ. Davis held an all-hands meeting of Boring Company employees in 2022 to discuss electing a mayor for the town.
That Musk would embark on building his own city seems one of the easier ambitions he has taken on. Between creating one of the most successful electric car brands, providing internet services via satellite around the world with Starlink, sending rockets into orbit with SpaceX, taking Twitter private for $44 billion, and developing Neuralink technologies, clearing land, and building a liveable community in Texas for his network of employees should be a walk in the park.
Musk also finds time between his ventures to troll politicians and offer input into the political landscape.
The Twitter owner and CEO hit back at Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer after the latter complained about the American public having access to security footage that provided an alternative perspective on the events and narrative of January 6th. Schumer took to the House floor and essentially asked for Fox News to prevent Tucker Carlson from airing more footage.
“These lies continue tonight. Rupert Murdoch, who admitted they were lies and said he regretted it has a special obligation to stop Tucker Carlson from going on tonight. Now that he’s seen how he has perverted and slimed the truth and from letting him go on again and again and again. Not because their views deserve such a proprium, but because our democracy depends on it,” he said
“Speaker McCarthy has held the gavel for less than three months,” he tweeted. “But by sharing the January 6th security footage with Fox News, he has already done more than any party leader in Congress to enable the spread of Donald Trump’s Big Lie.”
In response, Musk hilariously asked Schumer in a reply if he wanted Twitter to remove a video depicting protestors as mere sightseers with a fantastic voiceover.
