Country singer Maren Morris unloaded on President Donald Trump and the Americans who elected him, calling the president a “dementia-ridden, diaper-clad, cornball” while declaring that his voters would receive no forgiveness from her. The singer also attacked religious arguments surrounding the war in Iran. Her remarks extended to Fox News and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Critics subsequently mocked her music and called for a boycott.
Her comments appeared in an Instagram Stories video earlier this year, according to the Syracuse report, which cited Whiskey Riff’s coverage. Whiskey Riff published its account on March 6th, 2026. Morris, now 36, began by discussing her childhood experiences in Sunday school before moving into religion and the Iran conflict. She had previously appeared at the 2024 Democratic National Convention in support of Kamala Harris.
Morris opened with her recollection of feeling uncomfortable with religion as a child. “I knew that I had the ick with religion maybe at six or seven years old going to Sunday school,” she said. “I didn’t have the words for it at the time, but I felt really out of place and I felt like I’m not drinking this Kool-Aid the same way these other kids are.”
According to the Syracuse report, Morris turned to Christian Zionists and their views on the conflict. She described some evangelicals as having a “holy war excuse for our war in Iran.” She continued: “It’s also so disrespectful to Jewish people, because the whole like prophecy of you have to be in this part of the land for us to come and you know the second coming happen.”
The singer addressed Americans who had supported Trump across his presidential campaigns. “I don’t have forgiveness for the triple Trumpers or any of the Trumpers,” she said. “You did vote for this.” Turning directly to the president, she added: “He is a dementia-ridden, diaper-clad, cornball, ex-TV host, bankrupt to (expletive).” Her reference to three-time Trump voters followed his campaigns in 2016, 2020 and 2024.
Morris also accused Trump voters of being deceived, according to Breitbart’s March 8th coverage of the clip. She attacked Fox News as “a propaganda machine of just, like, Cocomelon brain rot for boomers.” Her remarks then moved to Hegseth, whose appearance she mocked with a profanity-laced reference to his sideburns and alcohol. The clip was also circulated on TikTok with the caption “sorry to empty the clip.”

Morris had already discussed losing listeners over her politics in a separate TikTok video that Breitbart covered on January 14th. She said she had stepped away from certain parts of the country music industry, including attending award shows, while continuing to love the genre. She also described costs to her financial standing and family relationships. “I’ve lost a lot of fans over the years because of my viewpoints,” she said.
Users on X weren’t shy about their feelings about the singer. An X user called for a boycott, saying “#BOYCOTT MAREN MORRIS AND SHOW HER THAT THE TRUMP SUPPORTING FANS WILL SHOW HER THAT SHE HAS F—ED UP BADLY!” Another account commented, “Your music is straight garbage and your brain’s on permanent vacation.” Another X user wrote, “Fake country music artist Maren Morris who has severe TDS, hates Trump supporters saying ‘she’ll never forgive them!’ Who cares what these r—–s think or say about us?”
Other accounts challenged her statement about forgiving Trump voters and criticized her musical ability. One X account said, “Trump supporters don’t need forgiveness from out-of-touch celebrities who think insulting half the country makes them morally superior.” Another user commented, “Didn’t she ‘retire’ from music because she was a failure and didn’t like Trump 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”
