An underage individual is now back in the custody of family members and a woman has been taken into custody for kidnapping the child, as Harris County officials reveal that while investigating the disappearance, they might have uncovered a human trafficking operation. Records have confirmed that 35-year-old Brandi Lowe is now being held by authorities in Harris County for promotion of prostitution.
Lowe’s bond has been set at $20,000. Law enforcement officers with Precinct 4 say they were informed about a missing child a week ago and immediately started an investigation into the disappearance. Detectives say they later found information that led them to the possibility that the girl was being trafficked.
Detectives working on the case then obtained a search warrant for a home and authorities executed that warrant. However, the child was not found. Thankfully, Lowe was reportedly identified at the home, which gave investigators the big break in the case they needed to find the missing girl. The investigation led authorities to find an online post by Lowe that featured the child with the aim of trafficking her.
According to Fox 26, Lowe was taken into police custody and slapped with the prostitution charge. Further investigation led to the discovery of a second home. Police obtained another search warrant for that location, which is where the child was found. The investigation is currently ongoing, which is why there are no further details revealed to the public.
