Former Vice President Kamala Harris, who was soundly defeated by President Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential election, has a well-earned reputation for spewing forth all manner of nonsense whenever she speaks. A video clip that is now going viral on social media platform X is adding further evidence to solidify that reputation.
During a speaking engagement for the NAACP, Harris delivered what many are calling a “word salad,” which is essentially what happens when someone attempts to sound intelligent and educated by using a lot of big words or utilizing phrases in a way that makes them sound totally profound when in reality they are the exact opposite.
“We lose our power. I do believe that when you feel powerless, you are powerless. And when we feel powerful, we are powerful,” Harris said in the now-viral video clip. Many who commented on the clip immediately pointed out how ridiculous the statement is and how it doesn’t have the impact that Harris was hoping it would.
A conservative influencer on X mocked Harris for trying to take a mash-up of words and phrases and try to make herself look smarter by compiling them into a sentence. “Kamala has delivered another drunken word salad and called it wisdom,” the user said. “That’s not a speech. That’s a 2 a.m. bar rant from someone who thinks repeating the same sentence twice makes her Socrates.”
“She slurs her way through a tautology like she just discovered fire, then sits there waiting for applause. This is the same woman who was one election away from the nuclear codes. The country didn’t just reject her policy. It rejected the sound of her talking,” the user concluded. “Sometimes when we walk in a circle, we end up at the same spot where we started. That’s Kamala,” another user humorously pointed out.
Another user poked fun of Harris by comparing her word salad to the classic children’s ditty, “The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round.” Someone else shared a clip of Harris sitting beside Michigan Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed giving another word salad while El-Sayed looks completely and utterly confused. The clip continues, clearly created by artificial intelligence, showing Harris pounding down some wine.
Someone else issued a warning on X that listening to Harris drone on and on incoherently is dangerous to your health and intelligence level. “Fair warning… The longer you listen to her the dumber you get,” the person wrote. “She is the gift that keeps on giving. In her mind she is an eloquent genius,” another user on X posted.

“Once we are feeling the feelings that we feel, the feelings felt by the feel we feel are the feelings we felt by the feelings we feel,” another individual said, capturing completely the utter confusion listeners feel while Harris drones on as if she is truly the most enlightened soul in the room. “She hasn’t gotten any better,” someone else accurately pointed out.
