Arguably the hottest commodity coming out of Hollywood right now is actress Sydney Sweeney, who many conservatives refer to as “MAGA-coded,” which means she likely leans right politically due to the kind of statements she’s made and the fact she’s a registered Republican. Sweeney, who isn’t ashamed to flaunt her sexiness, is always sparking controversy, whether she intends to or not, is now causing a stir because of an alleged dig she made against superstar singer Taylor Swift. And she did it with underwear.
Sweeney, who is currently in a relationship with Swift’s longtime enemy, Scooter Braun, shared a post on her Instagram Stories promoting her new line of women’s panties that included a pair embroidered with the phrase, “but daddy I love him,” which is the name of a song on Swift’s “Tortured Poets Department” album that was a smash success for the pop sensation.
The Euphoria star then wrote that the new line included “panty packs with some of my lil sayings hehehe.” Some folks might also recognize the phrase from the Disney classic animated film The Little Mermaid. In the movie, Ariel yells it at King Triton after falling in love with Prince Eric. Despite that fact, Swift’s fans, known to be a rather rabid bunch, have led to some slamming the post and calling for Swift to sue Sweeney.
According to a report from The Daily Beast, Sweeney, 28, has been dating Braun, 45, since September 2025, though the couple kept the relationship private until spring 2026. Braun previously owned the masters for six of Swift’s albums and at one time managed popular rapper Kanye West, another nemesis of Swift’s. In a 2023 interview with Time, Swift said she believed Braun bought the masters “for nefarious reasons.”
She also bagged on Braun in 2019 after he bought the masters, citing the “incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years.” She also said that his buying her catalog was her “worst nightmare.” Braun went on to say that he hardly knows Swift. He stated in a podcast interview that he “went from being like, loved and appreciated for over a decade to literally a villain the next night.”
“I will say something that will really sum it up that I don’t know if I’ve ever really said: I don’t know Taylor Swift,” he said, adding, “There’s this big misconception that, like, we knew each other, and we had this feud, and I managed her for years. And people are usually shocked to find out that I legitimately don’t know her and didn’t have many interactions with her, and never really knew her.”
Sweeney has faced significant backlash for affiliations with conservative politics after it was revealed she was a registered Republican. That came around the same time that she appeared in a controversial ad for American Eagle clothing that liberals referred to as racist and claimed it promoted white supremacy. Both President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance have shown her support in the past.

As a result of her refusal to back down over her jeans ad, conservatives began to back her publicly and have somewhat adopted her as a sort of modern-day starlet in the same mold as Marilyn Monroe. Along with that, she has gained high praise from men for also being into restoring old cars and vehicles of all sorts, chronicling her projects on social media.
