Conservative radio host Glenn Beck posted a clip from a recent episode of his podcast where he chit-chatted about Fox News host Maria Bartiromo who was unceremoniously booted from the network seemingly out of nowhere, giving his thoughts about where she should land next in her career. Many think Beck’s suggestion is a perfect fit.
Beck’s comments came during a conversation with his producer, Rikki Ratliff, which kicked off with the longtime radio host referring to Bartiromo as one of the only reasons to watch Fox Business, before going on to add that he thinks she should work at the White House, while also offering an explanation for what went down with her and her former employer.
“She was really one of the only reasons why you would watch Fox Business. She is so good at what she does, but hopefully she’ll end up at the White House. But explain what happened,” Beck said. Ratliff then cited a story from Puck News that discussed several stories related to China and its possible interference in the 2020 election that Bartiromo wanted to pursue.
“Yeah, this comes from Puck News. They say that per multiple sources familiar, she wanted to pursue a story related to China and 2020 election voting conspiracies, a major sensitivity for the network given its Dominion and Smartmatic lawsuits,” Ratliff said. “Allegedly, a Fox Business executive sent a text to Fox Business producers informing them that the story could not go to air.”
“And allegedly, Bartiromo sent a screenshot of the guidance and sent it to White House officials. Fox News leadership learned about that after receiving a call from the White House, which they viewed as a fireable offense, so she is not technically fired. According to John Solomon, she’s just no longer on air, and she has a contract that’s good for a few more years and is perhaps going to be paid out,” Ratliff explained.
Beck then pivots to talking about Roger Ailes and how much more conservative Fox News was when he was in charge. “I will tell you this: you know, when Roger Ailes was there, you know it was much more Republican. But I will tell you that I know for a fact that the heat that he got from the Republican Party to fire me because they hated the Tea Party and somehow or another I was credited at the time. I’m not, thank God, because it wasn’t. I mean, not thank God, but I just want the truth to stand,” he said.
He then makes it clear that it wasn’t him who created the Tea Party, though he was deeply involved with it, which is something Fox News hated. Beck then recounts how Ailes would tell him about all the heat he was taking from Washington to boot him from the network. “It is also the right because every single president, White House, and and party has pressured their people. You know when they call the people up in, you know, Fox or CNN, they’ve all pressured them.”

“It is the right and the duty of that to say, you know what, it’s not good for us. I’m sorry, we’re not going to be, we’re not going to fall under the pressure, which Roger did for a long time,” Beck continued, discussing his own firing from the network. “And I’m not saying that they pressured. They just probably just said, ‘Hey, what’s the deal on this? This is a really deal. And if they did pressure, it’s you know Murdoch’s right to not or Murdoch’s kids’ right to not fall underneath that pressure.”
“But I think it was understandable because there are sensitivities of the last lawsuit,” he added. “But I think it was understandable because there are sensitivities of the last lawsuit. But it was a mistake, and I hope that she becomes the next press secretary. I mean, I think she would be. Don’t you think she would be great as a press secretary?”
Ratliff replied, “Oh, she’d kill it. She is. She is tough. She’s smart. She follows the facts. She has an editorial point of view, of course, but she’s got real presence too. And I just don’t think she could be bullied around in that room.” Beck concluded the segment, by going on to heap praise on Bartiromo, saying, “No, nobody’s gonna mess with her. She’s fabulous.”
