White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller went scorched earth on CNN anchor Pamela Brown during an interview, skewering her for using language to purposefully “obscure the truth” while discussing the topic of immigration and President Donald Trump’s efforts to enforce the law. Brown kicked off the conversation by discussing an allegation made by former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem made concerning an illegal alien sending a death threat to the president.
“Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem posted a stunning allegation, saying that an undocumented migrant sent a letter threatening to kill the president, promising to self-deport after the assassination. CNN reporting shows that investigators believe the migrant was set up; it was a victim of a setup. What is the administration going to do now” Brown asked Miller.
“And this is an undocumented immigrant. I do want to note that, but this was someone who came forward, was a victim of a crime, and now law enforcement believes he was set up. Go ahead,” she added before allowing Miller to answer. “I want to clarify what you mean. So we’re talking about the same thing. Are you saying this this immigrant was here illegally?” he asked in response.
“Yes, but I am, and that’s why I said that. I clarified that,” she said. Miller interjected, “You just said undocumented, and I wasn’t clear what that means. I’m assuming they have a fake ID. I’m assuming they have a fake Social Security –” Brown then interrupted and said, “That’s neither here nor there. That’s getting away from the question, Stephen.”
“I want I want this to be, and call me naive, a good faith discussion about what’s happening right now,” Brown continued. Miller fired back by explaining the importance of using clear language. “But when we use language that’s designed to obscure the truth, that’s not good faith. An illegal alien is an illegal alien. They are not undocumented,” he said.
“Okay, that’s fine. That’s another discussion,” Brown replied. “I don’t know the I don’t know the details of the assassination threat. All I all I can say, based on what you’re telling me, is there’s an illegal alien in our country who’s making menacing threats, regardless of the facts or circumstances. We don’t want him here,” Miller said.
“We’re going to get to the bottom of it, and I would gladly come on whenever there’s more information to share with you,” he added. “They were set up, just to be clear,” Brown responded. During the interview, the two also sparred over a claim made by Trump that China has violated the interim deal that had resulted in both nations dialing back retaliatory and punitive tariffs.

According to a report from Yahoo News, when Miller got heated over the topic and passionately defended the president, his voice growing louder as he continued, Brown tried to scold him by saying, “Stephen, this is my show. I want to hear what you have to say. I’ve been respectful and given you the opportunity. But I also need to jump in because time is of the essence.”
