Fox News personality Emily Compagno delivered an emotional farewell to “Outnumbered” after nearly six years on the daytime program. Compagno thanked viewers, crew members, and the show’s production team during her final signoff on Friday, September 4th. She is leaving the noon panel program to become a permanent co-host of “The Five,” Fox News Channel’s ratings powerhouse in the coveted 5 p.m. hour. Her first appearance in the new role is set for Tuesday, September 8th.
Compagno joined Fox News as a contributor in 2018 and became a permanent “Outnumbered” co-host in January 2021. The weekday program features a panel of four female hosts and a rotating male guest discussing the day’s biggest political and cultural stories. Compagno had also made frequent appearances on “The Five” before Fox announced that she would receive a permanent seat at its table.
As the final moments of her last “Outnumbered” broadcast arrived, Compagno turned to the audience that had watched her on the program for years. “And now everyone watching, after almost six years, I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you at home who trusted me to help deliver and analyze the news every day at noon ET,” she said. Compagno appeared to fight back tears as she delivered the message.
Compagno thanked the staff members responsible for producing the daily show. As Trending Politics News reported, she singled out executive producer Trina Thompson along with the crew working behind the cameras. “And to the incredible crew on this stage, my executive producer Trina Thompson, and to our entire ‘Outnumbered’ team, whose dedication, professionalism, and sheer talent are the reason for this show’s excellence day in and day out,” Compagno said.
She described her time on the program as both an honor and a privilege before offering one final nod to her new assignment. “It has been an extraordinary privilege and an honor to serve as a co-host of ‘Outnumbered,’” Compagno told viewers. She closed the chapter with a reference to the new hour in which viewers will find her, saying, “From now on, see you at 5:00.”
Compagno will join longtime “The Five” co-hosts Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, and Jesse Watters. Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov will continue rotating in the panel’s liberal seat. Her addition fills the permanent position that had remained open since Jeanine Pirro left the program in May 2025 to become interim United States attorney for the District of Columbia. Pirro was later confirmed by the Senate in August 2025.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott praised Compagno when the network announced her promotion on August 24th. “Fifteen years later, ‘The Five’ remains a powerhouse and appointment viewing for millions of Americans,” Scott said. She added that Compagno is a “highly accomplished host whose energy and talent have made her a standout across FOX News Media.”
Compagno called receiving an official seat on the program an “incredible privilege.” She said, “I couldn’t be more honored to join ‘The Five,’ a team I have long admired and have been fortunate to work alongside over the years.” She added, “I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”
“The Five” averaged 3.6 million viewers during the second quarter of 2026, including 322,000 viewers in the advertiser-coveted 25-to-54 demographic. The program finished that quarter as cable news’ highest-rated show for the 19th consecutive quarter. Fox said rotating network personalities will temporarily occupy Compagno’s former “Outnumbered” seat while the network searches for a permanent replacement.
