Fox News primetime host Jesse Watters took time during a recent episode of his hit show to point out some stuff that seemingly indicates Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) might be on the cusp of announcing a 2028 bid for the White House. One of the big signs that point in that direction for the Democratic Socialists of America member is a recent shake-up of her office staffers, with “top Bernie Bros” being brought on board.
“There’s been a major shakeup inside of AOC’s office, and it could only mean one thing: she DOGE’d longtime staff and brought in the Bernie Bros, one of Bernie’s top guys. Now with AOC, sources say he was just handed a huge portfolio. That must mean she’s running. Now Obama’s guys in Chicago are puckering up to kiss the ring,” Watters said as he opened his segment about Ocasio-Cortez.
He then cut to a clip of a Pod Save America host, who was all in when it came to former President Barack Obama, saying, “She just should do what feels right to her, and I think if she actually thinks that she would be a good president, and this is the moment to try, she should run for president. I think in the donor class in the Democratic Party, there is a view that, well, we have to make sure the most electable Democrat wins.”
“First of all, we have no idea what’s most electable. We have no idea what voters will want. It’s a long time away from now, but it’s not out of the question that someone like AOC is most electable,” host Jon Favreau concluded. Watters then brought up David Pluff who worked for both Obama and former Vice President Kamala Harris.
“David Pluff worked for Obama, Kamala, and probably wants to hitch his wagon to Cortez. Money doesn’t grow on trees. That’s why they’re bringing Obama off the bench early this cycle, Barack’s hopping on the campaign trail to fundraise in Martha’s Vineyard and here in New York. Stephen A. says Barack’s always lurking and working in the shadows,” Watters continued.
“What I never told y’all and I never brought up is that Barack Obama called me to before the election to discuss my impact, but he didn’t come on the podcast either. It was after I said that we need a new president because Joe Biden clearly was done. You know, he clearly looked done. So the point is, there’s this habit. Folks like to talk to me privately,” sports analyst Stephen A. Smith said.
“But when I asked them to come on camera and to have a fruitful discussion, they go elsewhere,” he finished. Later in the report, Watters talks about Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and his efforts to “tush push” AOC “across the goal line.” He also mentioned how Ocasio-Cortez has been changing up her tone and messaging, taking on a more national outlook rather than simply focusing on the issues impacting her constituents.
