A Carnival cruise to the Bahamas ended with fists flying, luggage scattered across the floor, and 16 passengers banned from ever sailing with the company again. The massive brawl erupted as travelers waited to clear customs after disembarking at PortMiami. Officers eventually broke up the melee, but video captured several people exchanging punches as stunned passengers watched from the surrounding lines.
The fight broke out at approximately 8 a.m. on Monday, June 22nd, after the Carnival Conquest returned to Miami from a three-night trip to the Bahamas. Passengers were standing in the port’s de-boarding area, which falls under the jurisdiction of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Authorities said the confrontation involved members of two families, although the dispute that triggered it remains unclear.
Video from the terminal shows a woman wearing a black strapless dress ducking beneath a line divider and lunging toward another woman dressed in pink pajamas. The two begin trading punches before additional people rush into the confrontation. A woman wearing yellow and a man in a navy shirt became involved as the fight rapidly expands beyond the original pair.
The footage shows punches being thrown from several directions as luggage, signs, and retractable line barriers are knocked across the floor. Bystanders retreat from the fighting while several others stand nearby recording the chaos. Officers then move into the crowd and begin pulling the combatants away from one another.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office described the altercation as a “mutual combatant incident,” according to a report from People. “It was documented, though none of the parties wanted to press charges against each other,” the department said. No arrests were made after the participants declined to pursue charges, and authorities have not publicly identified the passengers involved.
One officer can be seen restraining a woman against a wall while other law-enforcement personnel struggle to separate people in the center of the terminal. Several of the combatants appear determined to continue the confrontation even as officers force them apart. Passengers waiting nearby remain pressed against the walls and behind the surviving barriers as the officers regain control of the area.

The passengers had just left the Carnival Conquest following a cruise that departed Miami on Friday, June 19th. The ship visited Celebration Key, Carnival’s private destination in the Bahamas, on June 21st before returning to Florida the following morning. The fight erupted during one of the final stages of the passengers’ journey home.
Carnival confirmed that everyone identified as participating in the fight was barred from booking another cruise with the company. “The incident occurred in the debarkation area under the authority of US Customs and Border Patrol,” a company spokesperson said. “We are appreciative of law enforcement’s swift response and handling of the matter.”
The cruise line placed all 16 passengers on its Do Not Sail List despite the absence of criminal charges. Carnival’s decision prevents those involved from returning to the company’s ships following their chaotic encounter at the Miami terminal. “We do not tolerate such behavior, and 16 people have been placed on our Do Not Sail List,” the spokesperson said.
