Country superstar Kacey Musgrave, who is an anomaly in the genre as she leans heavily to the left, is now being hit with calls to boycott her music and live shows after she opened a concert in the Democrat-run city of Chicago by sitting on enormous disco balls that resembled a pair of hanging testicles and asking the audience to donate money to the children of illegal aliens who have been deported.
Musgraves had previously cancelled her opening night show in Chicago, along with three other dates, but she finally showed up at the United Center to kick off her Middle of Nowhere Tour. During the show, the “I Remember Everything” singer decided to get political and show her support for illegal aliens, revealing her support for those who have entered the country without legal permission by calling for folks to give them even more of their money.
The singer encouraged the crowd to donate their hard-earned cash to an organization that provides support for the children of illegal immigrants who have been “deported unfairly.” During the show, Musgraves said, “It’s a wonderful organization, and they help give aid, legal aid, and money to children whose parents have been deported unfairly. It’s not a political thing, it’s just these kids need help.”
According to a report from Breitbart News, Musgraves has been open about her support for the Chicago-based Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights for quite some time. In April 2026, the singer worked with online fashion marketplace Depop to put her stage costumes up for sale, along with other clothing items, with the intent to give the proceeds to the group.
However, not long after the news of the country star’s comments hit social media, calls for a boycott of her music gained traction online. “What is an unfair deportation?” OutKick’s Tomi Lahren asked in a post published on X. “Another TRAITOROUS woman who wants nothing more than to see our country fall,” an X user commented.
“Shut up and sing Kacey (sic)!! Why do musicians think they Can draw a line in the sand? You alienate 50% of your audience,” another person said. Another X user called for a boycott of Musgraves, writing, “You just earned yourself a big ol’ boycott, you traitor. Illegal aliens and their kids don’t deserve our patronage and neither do you.”
Another cleverly said, “I’m deporting Musgraves from all my music playlists.” Musgraves also wisecracked about the disco ball testicles and pointed out that her grandmother was in the audience to see the odd and completely inappropriate display. “It takes a lot of balls to get up here and do what I do every night. It takes two gigantic, anatomically correct sparkly balls,” she said.

“I’ve actually got my Nana in the house tonight, and she always told me, ‘Honey, if you’re gonna do something, do it big, do it sparkly.’ Nana is this what you had in mind?” she said. Musgraves recently shared another controversial belief by saying she opposes kids being exposed to Christianity in the classroom, slamming Texas for “forcing” the Bible on kids.
