Clownish Country Singer Crashes Out after Facing Backlash for His Vile Anti-Trump Comments, Tells Fans to Stop Listening to His Music If They’re Offended

Country music megastar Jelly Roll had a message for fans who are angry after he took shots at President Donald Trump while guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live!: stop listening to his music. Jelly Roll’s comments against Trump were made during the opening monologue of the program. The joke centered around the president hosting the IndyCar race.

“Let’s talk about the main event of America this weekend. It was the big IndyCar race hosted by the president,” Jelly Roll went on to say in reference to the Freedom 250 Grand Prix. “The cars drove through the streets of D.C., and there’s Donald Trump who apparently has never held a flag before.” He then criticized Trump for how he waved the flag during the event.

“What a s**t job!” Jelly Roll commented in response to a video of the president waving the flag. “How do you f**k up waving a flag?” The line that really got under the skin of MAGA supporters was when the singer referred to himself and to Trump as a “fat pig.” Jelly Roll was slammed for the jokes on social media by Trump supporters who accused him of selling out and promised they would no longer listen to his music.

According to a report from Breitbart News, Jelly Roll doubled down on his jokes and told those who were mad about them to stop listening to his music. Considering the fact that many of his fans are conservatives who support the president, this might not have been the best way to respond to the criticism. “Some folks online were upset that I didn’t treat the president with reverence and dignity,” he replied. “But I want to remind y’all that I go by the name Jelly Roll.”

The popular musician then said that he made the jokes because he was hosting “a d**n late-night show,” going on to add, “That’s where you talk about the news and you make jokes.” In response to the pledged boycotts by MAGA supporters, Jelly Roll encouraged his angry fans to stop listening if that’s what they wanted to do.

“For those who threatened to stop listening to my music based on my comments last night, I just want to say with conviction: go right ahead,” he stated. “I have to say, as a former felon, drug dealer who has lost 300 pounds, has tattoos all over his face and won three Grammys, this is the weirdest thing I’ve ever done to stun people.”

“I don’t even treat myself with reverence and dignity,” he wisecracked. “One day I looked in the mirror and said, ‘You, my friend, are a pastry.’ Frankly, I think most people were just surprised that I had any opinions at all. They see a guy that looks like me and assume the only opinion I have is whether I prefer my meth crystal or classic.” Jelly Roll stated previously that he has “no political alliance,” meaning he doesn’t subscribe to the ideals and policies of either major party.
