The Secret Service has issued a response to a recent disturbing threat made against the life of President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, by the Iranian regime, which had put a bounty on the young man’s life. “The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees,” Nate Herring, a spokesman for the Secret Service announced.
“Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence,” Herring said. The three-minute video was aired by Iranian broadcaster IRIB, a media outlet affiliated with the state that aligns itself with hardline Islamic extremists. The head of the organization was appointed by Iran’s supreme leader.
The video also aired on the IRGC-linked Channel 3 in Iran. The video starts off with a graphic in English that says, “Where to kill Barron Trump?!” The segment then refers to the 20-year-old son of the president as a “target” and features several stylized graphics that depict locations where Barron is known to publicly spend his time, including Trump Tower in New York and an address in Washington that is connected to New York University.
It specifically references dormitories located on NYU’s Constance Milstein & Family Global Academic Center. Several media outlets, including The Jerusalem Post and The New York Post, stated that they could not verify the origin of the video, nor the surveillance claims, account details, or information on the reported bounty placed on Barron, according to Trending Politics News.
The U.S. Secret Service said that it’s aware of the video and that it investigates threats made against those under its protection. The video is the first time that Barron Trump has been singled out for a death threat in this manner, though Iranian media have previously targeted First Lady Melania Trump with similar content, including a video called, “Where to Kill Melania?” That video ended by making a reference to Barron.
A federal law enforcement source spoke with CNN, describing the video as part of a content campaign created by Iran targeting the president and his family. Some of this content has included movement details and several suggestions aimed at Trump’s family members. President Trump has been the subject of multiple assassination threats from Iran.
The country has been angry with the president ever since his first term, when he launched a drone strike in January 2020 that killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani. Now the country is upset with Trump for the death of its late Supreme Leader and the attacks launched by both the U.S. and Israel, which successfully took out its nuclear program.

Trump has been increasing the pressure on Iran as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently revealed an “economic D-Day” plan to obliterate Tehran’s economy, which has already taken quite a beating due to soaring inflation and the impact of a blockade. “We are now entering the endgame. At dawn begins an economic D-Day — the single greatest financial offensive ever marshaled against an adversary,” Bessent said.
