CNN’s lone voice of reason, conservative pundit Scott Jennings, not only won an argument against an entire panel of raging left-wing cohosts, but got Abby Phillip to admit on live television that he was right, as the entire group of individuals attempted to pretend that former President Joe Biden’s inflation disaster never actually happened.
During the show, a verbal firestorm kicked off when Keith Boykin, a former Clinton White House aide who now works as a commentator for CNN, attempted to blame all of America’s current economic misery on President Donald Trump. Boykin listed off a bunch of grievances, but didn’t get far before Jennings jumped in to correct him.
“I hope, if anything else, if nothing else, that this debacle proves once and for all, or debunks the myth, that Republicans are good for the economy. If you look at Donald Trump’s record, he shows exactly the opposite,” Boykin went on to say. “The debt is up. Inflation is up. Gas prices are up. Unemployment —”
“Inflation’s down, actually,” Jennings said, interrupting Boykin before he could continue rattling off his list of likely DNC-approved talking points. Boykin replied that inflation was 3% when Biden took office, seemingly insinuating that everything that happened after that didn’t happen. Abby Phillip then got involved in the conversation, trying to support Boykin by stating inflation is “higher today than it was when Trump took office.”
However, when Biden was in office, inflation hit historic highs, peaking at around 9%, according to a report from PJ Media. “What was the highest rate during Biden?” Jennings asked. Boykin refused to answer. Jennings asked a second time. Boykin still didn’t answer, accusing Jennings of “deflecting” while continuing to claim that inflation was 3% when Biden took office.
“There was no inflation during Biden,” Jennings wisecracked. “You heard it here on CNN.” The line hit hard because it was true. The report noted that those who have been raising alarms about high prices under Trump spent years denying it was a problem under Biden. Then the world seemed to stop on its axis as Phillip admitted, “Inflation was very high under Biden. But when Donald Trump came into office, it was lower than it is today.”
Jennings didn’t allow Phillip’s admission to go by without calling attention to it. “So you admit that it went up under Biden and it’s lower now,” he said. She then tried to change the subject by asking the panel why they were “arguing over things that don’t need to be argued about.” But Jennings still had a point to make and he did so in a post on X.

“Fact check: Under Joe Biden, Americans suffered roughly 21 percent cumulative inflation, including a 40-year-high inflation rate of 9.1 percent. Under Trump, inflation was 2.7 percent last year. It’s 3.4 percent today, largely because of the energy shock from the Iran war, but core inflation is just 2.5 percent. But sure – inflation is up,” Jennings wrote, finishing off his utter destruction of the lies CNN’s left-leaning contributors were trying to pass as facts.
