Social media influencer and television host Perez Hilton was rushed to a Miami hospital on August 4, 2026, after a shocking and deeply disturbing TikTok livestream that led to several emergency calls from concerned viewers, according to reports released by authorities and other media outlets. Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office visited Hilton’s home after callers reported that he seemed to be engaging in self-harm during the stream.
Clips from the livestream, which several media outlets opted not to publish, showed Hilton covered in blood while holding a knife. Authorities did not immediately identify the individual they took to the hospital as Hilton by name in their first public statements concerning the incident. However, deputies confirmed they were dispatched after receiving several calls that a person was livestreaming acts of self-harm.
Deputies then talked with family members at the scene and confirmed the person was alone inside the residence before deciding to “tactically disengage” while keeping an eye on the situation. “In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication,” the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said in comments delivered to the Daily Mail.
“Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public,” the statement continued. According to Trending Politics News, deputies said the person was safely transported from the home to the hospital.
The report then revealed that the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Crisis Response Unit and licensed mental health professionals stayed at the scene to provide support for the family. Hilton’s condition was not made clear at the time. The video of the stream was taken down and Hilton’s account has been suspended.
Golden Artists Entertainment co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, Hilton’s representatives, spoke with TMZ and said they were aware of the content being passed around social media and were attempting to reach their client. “We are aware of the concerning content circulating online involving our client, Perez Hilton,” they said in a statement.
“At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him. Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further. We appreciate everyone’s concern and ask that his privacy be respected during this time,” the statement continued.

The incident led to a massive wave of concern from Hilton’s fans, celebrities, and media figures who watched the footage of the incident spread across social media platforms before it was ultimately taken down. Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., is the father of three kids who were born through surrogacy. His son was born in 2013. His daughters were born in 2015 and 2017.
Former Rep. George Santos posted on social media about the situation, saying, “Please pray for Perez Hilton folks. He needs the power of prayer and the strength of our Lord and Savior.” Users also blasted TikTok for allowing the livestream to remain up while Hilton appeared to be in the middle of a crisis and in need of help.
“Genuinely think TikTok should be held liable in some way for allowing that Perez Hilton feed to last 30 minutes. Absolutely insane,” a user wrote on X. Another individual commented that the platform “allowed many people, including children, to come across a live where a man was going through a mental health crisis.”
