Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) was greeted by a round of boos by those attending the Minnesota Farmfest gubernatorial forum as a speaker, alongside Republican candidates Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth, MyPillow founder Mike Lindell, and retired health care executive Kendall Qualls. The hour-long event, which was moderated by Blois Olson, unfolded beneath a large shed and was part of the annual agricultural gathering that draws in farmers, residents, vendors, and political figures.
All three GOP candidates took time to express their support for President Donald Trump and his administration’s immigration policies during the policy segment of the hour-long talk. “Protecting our borders is what was desperately needed after the failed Biden Administration,” Demuth said. Lindell focused his comments on increased cooperation between state and federal authorities to prevent surges that were made necessary by anti-ICE rioting in 2025.
Klobuchar took the mic after the GOP candidates, saying she had “long believed and supported funding for order at the border and I have worked well with law enforcement in Minnesota for years.” She then referenced some of her endorsements from law enforcement. The comment drew loud boos from the audience.
According to a report from Trending Politics News, Klobuchar then slammed her opponents’ positions, going on to say, “None of my opponents on this stage condemned what ICE did … two innocent people were killed.” The comment was a reference to the shooting deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, both of whom attacked or interfered with federal agents in the middle of an active operation to apprehend criminal illegals.
Those comments elicited even more boos from the crowd. The forum had to be paused for a brief time after her remarks on immigration due to the audience’s reaction. Organizers then told the crowd to be respectful and stated that if disruptions continued, the event would be canceled. Throughout the forum, candidates took time to address other important issues to American voters.
Klobuchar placed strong emphasis on bipartisan approaches, the visits she has made across many of Minnesota’s counties, and efforts connected to the state’s economy and concerns over the rampant fraud that has been uncovered in the state. During one exchange she surprisingly admitted that the “people of Minnesota were ripped off” by fraud that “should have been caught sooner,” going on to call for a “top to bottom” audit.
Her Republican opposition shined a light on critiques of Democratic control of state government and pledged to make much-needed changes to improve conditions for Minnesota residents. The audience seemed to be pleased with many of the answers they received from those who took the stage, outside of the immigration segment where they found Klobuchar’s remarks wanting.

Minnesota has been the center of political debate ever since independent journalist Nick Shirley published a video in December 2025 that revealed a massive daycare scheme being run by members of the Somali community. Shirley visited a number of daycare operations, finding that many of them didn’t actually have students.
