Trump Calls Out, Exposes Fake News Channel for Its Outright Lies, Slams “Shaky Anchor”

President Donald Trump ripped into ABC News anchor David Muir, who he referred to as “shaky,” as he criticized the left-leaning network for their reporting on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which was drained again to make additional repairs following the completion of a recent renovation project. The president took Muir to school in two posts published on his Truth Social account.

The posts were made after several images hit social media showing the partially drained pool as the administration claimed that the pool’s lining was deliberately damaged by leftist vandals. “ABC Fake News and its shaky anchor, David Muir, said that the Reflecting Pool was drained to address Peeling Paint (there is no paint, it was slashed with a knife, or box cutter, high grade colored waterproofing liner – it was VANDALISM!) and Algae Blooms (also caused by Vandals, but removed long ago!),” the president claimed.

“In other words, the story was FAKE NEWS, but heavily slanted away from the real cause of the problem, Vandalism. It will be fixed soon, and better than ever,” Trump continued. “60 monuments and fountains have been cleaned and fully renovated in D.C., and crime is at record lows! Washington has never looked better, or been safer!”

In a previous post shared by President Trump, he discussed the extent of the damage done to the lining of the pool, saying, “We drained the beautiful ‘Reflecting Pool’ today in order to fix the scars and damage that was done by the Vandals two weeks ago, The slashes were 300 yards long, and the floor of the pool was cut and then pulled upward, with great force, by these thugs. These Country hating sleazebags should pay a big price for the damage done.”

The president has had an ongoing beef with ABC News. Trump secured a $16 million settlement in a defamation lawsuit from 2024. Users shared their own thoughts about the current state of the mainstream media in the comment section of the president’s post. One individual called on the president to change who regulates the news in the U.S.

“I thought the news was supposed to be 50 percent bulls**t and 50 percent real news. In other words, where is the #FCC in this country? I mean we have to pay a lot of money to get real news except for your stations. Mr President @realDonaldTrump, I know they need money, but if taxpayer money is going into a propaganda machine and it’s been like this for years, maybe it’s time to change who regulates this so-called news?”

“It’s so crazy the fake newsers are chasing this so hard. They hate America being taken care of and honored especially because you’re doing it and no other POTUS or administration ever thought to before you!!” another user wrote. Someone else lamented left-leaning media outlets seemingly getting away with lying to the American people.

“FAKE NEWS are lies, not freedom of speech. Can’t something be done to stop these news stations from getting away with it? Hold them accountable and give them jail time if they do it! That’ll stop them!” the person replied. Another person skewered Muir, saying, “David is not a news journalist. He’s a lying propagandist.”
