International Fast Food Chain Faces Boycott Threats Over Allegations It Hired Illegal Migrants, Paid Them Under the Table in Another Western Country

McDonald’s, one of the top fast-food chains in the world, is now facing calls for a boycott after it was discovered that it’s hiring illegal aliens in Ireland. What’s worse is they are paying them under the table, which means they aren’t paying taxes into the country’s system while likely taking advantage of social welfare programs.

A video clip of an illegal migrant from Morocco talking about working for the restaurant has resurfaced and is going viral on social media platform X, which has led to many in the comment section calling for the fast food giant to be boycotted for their actions. In the video, an Irish citizen is speaking with a Moroccan immigrant on the sidewalk. He asks the migrant why he is smoking a cigarette.

The man responds by saying he’s smoking due to stress. When asked what kind of stress he’s under, the man says it’s because he doesn’t know if he’s going to be working for the day, as sometimes there’s nothing available. The man tells the Irish citizen that he’s in the country because there is no work in Morocco.

When asked how long he had been in Ireland, he said three months. During that time he made 3,000 euros, which is significantly more than he was making in his home country. In U.S. dollars, that’s $3,429.15. Milly, a user on X, responded to the clip with a few photographs showing asylum seekers getting into a fancy car.

“Walking back to work through Rathmines past IPAS Tramco – ‘asylum seekers’ getting into a brand new MERC. Could not get the reg because he was eyeballing me,” Milly wrote. Someone replied to Milly’s post and slammed the Irish government for helping illegal aliens while ignoring homeless citizens and do nothing to solve the problem.

“And the Irish homeless sleep outside the swimming pool and outside Rathmines church and hardly anyone blinks an eye. Rathmines I sadly have to say has turned into a first class kip. 20 years ago it was a great spot for a night out in.  Wonder what could possibly have changed,” the user said. Kulture Warrior commented that lawyers should get involved, taking the effort beyond just a boycott.

“Don’t just boycott, get lawyers to sue McDonald’s under an organization and use to fight the government,” the account said. “I never eat McDonald even if they’re just a couple of buildings in my block.. if I wanna eat burger I walk few blocks to Shake Shack or Burger King for Angus beef but once in a year or 2 only I’m not a meat eater. I’d rather eat fish, seafood or veggies,” someone else commented.

Another person noted that this just gives them one more reason to boycott the company. “I’m boycotting them already until they bring back fries fried in beef tallow and those freaking delicious fried pies with the molten lava apple or cherry filling,” the individual stated. “Goodness with their standard of hygiene we see in the streets, hate to imagine them with food,” someone pointed out.
