According to a District of Columbia Fire and EMS dispatch call that was recently made public, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) was found “unconscious” in his home in the District after what might have been a heart attack that he suffered in mid-June. He was rushed to the hospital by the emergency responders after the call.
Such is what the New York Post reported in an article on Wednesday, July 1, saying that the call involving the senator also involved medical personnel serving in an Advanced Life Support ambulance that was sent to his residence around 9 in the morning, and those personnel had to perform CPR when they arrived for a “cardiac arrest.”
While representatives for the man who used to be the Senate Majority Leader didn’t comment on the communications that were just made public regarding CPR and the ambulance, a spokesperson for Senator McConnell did admit that, on the day of the at-home incident, whatever it was, the senator was admitted to the hospital.
Namely, the spokesperson told the media that Senator McConnell “was admitted to the hospital this morning” and was “receiving excellent care.” Further, spokesman David Popp claimed that Sen. McConnell was “working closely with staff on Senate business and Kentucky matters as he continues his recovery.”
Reporting on the matter in a short post on X, the New York Post said, “Mitch McConnell was found ‘unconscious’ in DC home last month, may have suffered heart attack”. Commenters quickly highlighted the story and argued that there was much about it that was worrisome and fishy, namely the claim that McConnell was working with staffers after a serious medical episode.
“The “staffers” who claim he is “working closely with them” while he is taken to the hospital unconscious for cardiac arrest must be investigated. No one works closely with any staffers in that condition. Why are they lying?” one commenter on the post said. “His staffers have ran the show now for years. McConnell is nothing but a shell of his former self,” a commenter on that comment added.
Similarly, another commenter said, “He’s been unconscious for years.” “Weekend at Mitch’s,” a commenter on that comment said, joking about the movie “Weekend at Bernie’s”, in which the main characters try to pretend a deceased uncle remains alive.

“I used to think that the problem was politicians who stayed too long in order to hold onto power. I’m now of the opinion that its staffers and hanger ons who will ride these rotting corpses right into the grave so they can hold onto power. Staffers, lobbyists and sycophants are the ones in charge,” another commenter wrote, calling out the DC Establishment.
Listen to the dispatch audio here:
President Trump, calling out McConnell for being against the SAVE America Act, said, “There is no excuse for a politician, or otherwise, to be against the above three requirements. There is only one reason to oppose — CHEATING! The House of Representatives has approved this vital Act, THREE TIMES. The United States Senate seems unable to do so. In a time when there is a powerful Communist Movement taking place in our Country, one more dangerous than World War I, World War II, Pearl Harbor, or September 11th, all Dumocrats, and our five Republican Senate Hold Outs, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Thom Tillis, Bill Cassidy, and Mitch McConnell must vote to SAVE OUR COUNTRY. There can be no more excuses!”
