Former NFL running back Zac Stacey was sentenced to six months in prison for two separate attacks on his ex-girlfriend and the mother of at least one of his children. Two young children were just feet away from his mother when one of the brutal attacks, captured on camera, happened.
The internet reacted with swift outrage over the leniency displayed in sentencing, as the video is almost impossible to watch given its graphic and unbelievably chilling violence.
Perhaps most shocking of all is that the sentence, handed down on February 27th, was handed out by a judge in Florida. It appears even Florida isn’t immune to progressive activist judges who would rather side with the offenders than their victims.
For those that haven’t seen the video, it is a tough one, but here it is below:

Posted to Twitter and seen over one million times, Stacy can clearly be shown picking up, throwing, beating, and threatening the petite woman. Comments ranged from outrage at the crime itself to then comparing how this crime is apparently less deserving of punishment than others, as deemed by the federal government.
“Not long enough AND done in front of a child. Then on the other hand we have people who have been sitting in jail for 2 yrs without a trial, for walking into a building through an open door. I have little to no trust in our legal system,” one commenter said.
“Its a different justice system for some people. If this was me, I’d rightfully get a couple years at least,” said another.
“That’s a felony all day in any state. Any man that does this WILL do it again,” wrote one user.
“Unbelievable. This is inexcusable and represents one of the many issues with our justice system,” chimed in another.
“So in 6 months he’ll get a chance to finish what he started? Dude should be gone way longer than 6 months,” suggested another.,
Court documents show that Kristin Evans, the woman being seen pummeled by the much larger Stacy, said the violence was the result of a dispute over money.
“[Stacy] physically assaulted me several times because he wanted the money back he gave me for our rent. . . . He punched my legs, slapped me, picked me up by my arms, and threw me into my window, which broke. I had glass in my feet that I removed myself,” the victim said, describing the horrific scenes from the video.
And, adding to the gravity of the crime, she said that not just one child as previously reported, but two children were present as it happened.
“I begged him to stop because the baby was on the couch just a few feet from where he punched me,” Evans said in the police report. “[Zac] has escalated violence since May while I was pregnant. He also assaulted me just weeks before our son was born. He will not stop. He will kill me and he feels justified in his actions.”
TMZ later reported that Evans posted a video following the sentencing to Instagram asking for the community to forgive him. She said that she wanted him involved in her and her family’s lives.
“And over the last six months, he’s consistently shown an improvement, as well as our son enjoying spending time with him,” she stated. “So please give me some grace in understanding that I’m not being easy on Zac, rather I am trying to protect our son from anymore trauma.”
TMZ noted that Evans’ very sympathetic stance toward her abusive ex-partner caused many comments in the social media post to ask her to reconsider, writing.
Ultimately, Evans believes the head trauma Stacy suffered during his football career played a role in his previous actions … and she wants to give him another chance to prove he can change.
Evans’ video has sparked numerous responses in the comment section … with many calling for her to rethink her forgiveness for the sake of her family.
