A total of 16 people have been permanently banned by Carnival Cruise Line following a massive brawl on June 22, 2026 that occurred in a customs line in Florida. According to footage shared across social media, the brawl included a dozen men and women punching each other’s lights out while also causing luggage and stanchions to go flying all over the place at a Miami-Dade County customs checkpoint.
Local police, who spoke with the Daily Mail, said the fight broke out between two families who seemingly have some serious bad blood between them. Law enforcement officials said no arrests have been made and no charges filed against anyone involved in the fray. A spokesperson for the cruise line said that 16 people have now been placed on the no-sail list as a result of the fight.
“I’m about to skip the line,” a bystander can be heard saying as they witnessed the brawl unfold. The scuffle marks the second big rumble that Carnival Cruise has had to deal with in the last several months. Court documents that were obtained by the media reveal that two women got slapped with assault charges in May after a fight on a Carnival ship that was on a return trip to Alabama.
According to a report from The Daily Caller, Tonya Nelson, 58, and Lisa Horace, 51, started slapping each other after one claimed the other woman and her husband were not in the correct line. “I’m just sorry that we’re here,” Nelson said to the judge during a court appearance.
A report from People said that the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office noted that the incident “was deemed a mutual combatant incident.” They also told the outlet that, “It was documented, though none of the parties wanted to press charges against each other.” The situation began with a shouting match, but quickly escalated when a woman wearing a black dress lunged at a passenger in pink behind her.
The footage shows the two women throwing punches at each other as a man in a Navy blue shirt tries to push the woman in pink and a woman in a yellow dress gets in the mix too. Police eventually arrive on the scene and begin to pull the guests off of each other. The comment section on the Daily Caller story was very colorful.
“That’s the main reason I don’t go on cruise ships, well that and they don’t have skeet shooting off the fantail. I ain’t going anywhere without access to a firearm,” one user commented. “We have been on 8 cruises with Carnival and all of them were great experiences. We will not be going on a Carnival Cruise again as it has turned into a place where people with no class whatsoever congregate to fight like animals and eat like pigs,” another stated.

One user quipped, “It’s nice that all the government handouts allow people the expendable cash for a cruise vacation. Personally, I can’t afford the time off work.” Someone else wrote, “The Spirit Airlines of the sea….. Remember Carnival advertises as The ‘FUN’ ship. They probably still have folks using their Hurricane Katrina vouchers for trips. And to watch these creatures in the buffet line!!!! Mind-numbing… Been there – done that. I have decided I would rather pay MORE to have a serene, peaceful, and stress-free cruise and Carnival certainly doesn’t enter into THAT equation… ”
