“The View” Is Under FCC Investigation, and Is Begging Viewers to Help It

ABC has learned nothing over the course of the last few years, opting to put all their chips on the table and supporting its extremist, left-wing morning talk show, The View, by showing ads that urge the show’s viewers to contact the FCC in order to show their support for the show, which has a well-earned reputation for spouting fake news.

The network is currently looking down the barrel of several legal proceedings before the FCC, which is currently headed up by Trump-appointed Chairman Brendan Carr, as critics of the show and Jimmy Kimmel Live! continue to push for ABC to be slapped with sanctions for violating equal time for opposing viewpoints and other rules.

ABC aired the first ad on June 22, 2026, urging fans of the show to tell the FCC that The View is a “bona fide” news program. The ads are also airing online. “The View has welcomed your favorite guests for nearly 30 years. Now the FCC wants to control who is allowed to appear on the show. Tell the FCC to let the viewers decide,” the spot says as it opens with a video of Barbara Walters hosting the program.

According to a report from Breitbart News, Walters is one of the founders of the leftist show, which started in 1997. She stepped down from her role on the panel in 2014 and later passed away in 2022. She has not been associated with The View for over a decade. ABC is also pushing for an additional ad to be aired on its flagship New York station, WABC, telling viewers to inform the FCC that the network is a vital center of communications for residents of the East Coast.

“ABC7 has proudly served the New York area for more than 75 years. Now the FCC is questioning our commitment to viewers by threatening to take us off the air. Use your voice and tell the FCC that New York deserves to keep its trusted local station WABC,” the second spot goes on to say. ABC is also airing ads in support of its other outlets in major cities across the country.

The list includes KABC-TV Los Angeles; WLS-TV Chicago; WPVI-TV Philadelphia; KTRK-TV Houston; KGO-TV San Francisco; WTVD-TV Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; KFSN-TV Fresno, California. Allies of President Donald Trump have also been hard at work angling to have the FCC completely revoke the network’s broadcast licenses for one-sided “news” coverage and its support for late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

A user in the comment section of the story responded to the news by blaming Americans’ distrust of media on The View. “‘The View’ and the rest of the mainstream media are the reason why Americans trust in the news media is at a record low of 28%. This is the lowest level of confidence recorded by Gallup since they began tracking the metric in the 1970s.”

Another individual went on to comment, “Disney ABC is going to find out the hard way what happens when you elect a leftist to run your company into the ground by not just alienating but mocking your customers.” Someone else took an opportunity to slam host Sunny Hostin, saying, “Sunny claims to be a lawyer, but for whom there is no record that she ever tried a case, she claims to be Catholic, but promotes abortion, gay marriage and gender ‘fluidity.’ In other words, she is nothing.”
