In yet more bad news for far-left California Gov. Gavin Newsom and great news for MAGA Americans who want to see California Governor Gavin Newsom arrested, the governor is facing a massive legal campaign being waged against him by the Trump
Announcing that the feds have begun an investigation into him, Gov. Newsom said, “Today, my wife & I joined Donald Trump’s hit list. He has directed his Department of Justice to investigate us. They have not found a crime – they are simply trying to find one. He isn’t coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for President.”
In the video, which went on for nearly five minutes, the governor whined, “In recent days, federal agents have knocked on the doors of family friends and former employees, not because they found a crime, because they’re simply trying to find one.” He also said, “They’re demanding records. They’re abusing the grand jury process, digging through years and years of random documents.”
So, Newsom generally did his best to make it appear as if he is facing sharp and unfair legal attacks from the Trump Administration, which he framed as being out to get him in an effort to defeat and embarrass one of its chief political opponents. The main problem with that claim is that it’s untrue, as was soon revealed on X: in reality, Newsom has been under investigation since the Biden Administration.
Such is what reporter Adam Housley reported on X, noting that the California governor and his wife are not facing a vague and unfair legal challenge from President Donald Trump, but that they are under an investigation that has been ongoing since the Biden Administration, meaning that whatever they did is serious enough that even a fellow Democrat was willing to greenlight digging into it. “Minor detail. They’ve been under federal Investigation since the Biden admin. This isn’t new,” Housely said.
Further, Housley noted, in response to a question asking, “I know the Newsom investigation was opened during the Biden administration…but why? I think that would be an interesting question to answer” that the investigation began under Biden “Because it was opened regionally and didn’t come from DC.”
Yet further, he noted that the investigation is wide-ranging, saying, “The investigation has multiple arms. Some of it connected here in the Napa Valley,” Housley wrote. “It was first handled by agents from the Sacramento FBI, and I was told it was taken over by the San Francisco office.”

Chiming in, RedState reporter Jennifer Van Laar noted that Newsom faces at least somewhat credible allegations of corruption, saying, “Maybe they’re investigating you because your finances don’t add up? Or because your wife’s LLC received the deed to a $9.1 million home a week before the LLC was even created – while you still had your Fair Oaks home? How was that LLC capitalized?”
Another reporter, Shelby Talcott, said, “New: A source familiar with the situation tells me that there are “several investigations” ongoing relating to Gov. Gavin Newsom — I’m told they are focused on his wife’s taxes + his chief of staff. They did not originate from the main DOJ, but are out of Sacramento and involve whistleblowers, per source. DOJ is declining to comment.”
Talcott further added, “A note to avoid confusion — chief of staff is referring to Williamson (who recently pled guilty in a fraud scheme), per source. Unclear yet if it’s separate from that existing investigation or whether the probe involves current staffers, more TK.”
