“Horrific”: Kids’ Lemonade Stand Gets Robbed at Gunpoint in Sanctuary City

In a terrible incident out of the sanctuary city of Boston, known for the anti-Trump, anti-law enforcement attitude of Mayor Michelle Wu, it was revealed that an armed robber stole the earnings of two children who were running a summertime lemonade stand, a particularly egregious and shocking example of criminality in the once-great city.

As background, both Wu and the city government Boston have repeatedly faced criticisms from the Trump Administration, the American people generally, and, most importantly, Bostonians, for allowing crime to rage out of control and essentially unchecked. Particularly at issue are vagrancy, a blight on most blue cities, and migrant crime, a problem for many sanctuary cities.

It’s unclear who was behind this attack on a kids’ lemonade stand, but it does nevertheless stand as an example of the sort of awfulness going on inside America’s major cities. Describing it in a press release, the Boston Police Department began, “At approximately 4:44 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, Officers from C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call reporting an Armed Robbery in the area of West Ninth Street, South Boston.”

Continuing, the press release noted that it was two children running a little lemonade stand who had been robbed, something that officers discovered upon their arrival. It said, “On arrival, officers spoke to the victims, two children who had been operating a lemonade stand at the location.”

It then described how the suspects cased out the lemonade stand ahead of time, saying, “The victims stated that the unknown suspects made several passes by the stand before approaching and asking whether Apple Pay would be accepted as payment.”

And, adding to that, it noted that the two suspects stole the box with money in it and flashed a weapon, saying, “Before the victims could respond, the suspects grabbed a box containing U.S. currency. One suspect then displayed a black firearm in his waistband before both individuals fled the area.”

The statement then added, “The Boston Police Department District C-6 Detectives are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact detectives directly at (617) 343-4742.”

Jennifer Byrne, the mom of the two kids, said the incident was “horrific” when she spoke to NBC Boston about it. She said, “My daughter called me, I’m at work. She was in hysterics, crying, saying, ‘Somebody put a gun to us and took all of our money.’ They noticed two kids with masks over their face[s] across the street, [and] they kept coming back and forth.” She added, “My daughter said when they said ‘We’re taking it all,’ she put her arms up in the air and said, ‘Just take it. Just take it.'”
