WATCH: Joe Biden Crashes Jill’s Book Tour with Awkward Question that Leaves the Room Cringing

Former first lady Jill Biden was giving a talk during an event for her new book when she was suddenly interrupted by a surprise appearance by her husband, former President Joe Biden, in New York, leading to a rather awkward exchange with event moderator and co-host of “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg. The incident was captured on video and quickly went viral.

As the former president emerged from the audience, Jill Biden quipped, “Joe has a question. Like you couldn’t ask it later.” And this is where things started to go awry. “Who do you love most in the whole world?” Biden asked his blushing bride. The former first lady burst out laughing and said, “Whoopi.” Biden responded to the answer with a shrug.

The former first lady has been on the road, touring the nation to promote her new memoir, “View from the East Wing,” which reveals a bevy of new details concerning her relationship with her husband. During the controversial 2024 presidential race, Jill Biden was one of her husband’s most staunch defenders, however, during the book tour she’s taken a different tone.

According to a report from Fox News, Biden revealed that she was afraid her husband was suffering from some kind of medical issue during the disastrous June 2024 debate against President Donald Trump. His poor performance led to the Democratic Party pushing him to step down as the nominee. He was soon thereafter replaced by then-Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I wasn’t horrified, I was frightened,” Jill Biden recounted. “I had never, ever seen Joe like that before or since. I don’t know what happened. As I watched it, I said, ‘Oh my God, he’s having a stroke.’ It scared me to death,” she stated during a conversation with the crowd. Users on social media wasted no time getting their pound of flesh by slamming the Bidens for the weird and uncomfortable exchange with Goldberg, going on to weigh in on the couple’s relationship and the former president’s health.

“Staged and still sad,” said one individual on X. “So painful to watch,” wrote another. “The dementia is kicking in hard,” a user stated, taking a jab at Biden’s questionable mental acuity. “The man ran the free world for four years and still needs verbal reassurance at a book signing,” one person replied. “I’d like to think that he just wandered in and wasn’t actually invited to the event,” joked a user.

On Facebook, commenters were equally as vicious, with one individual writing, “Thought Joe was asking if it was his nap time yet.” Someone else wisecracked, “Joe thought he was stopping at an ice cream store.” A third user blasted Jill Biden and her book tour saying, “You mean people showed up?” Another person quipped, “Oh Lord, he escaped!”

Before becoming the president, Joe Biden served 36 years in the Senate before becoming former President Barack Obama’s vice president for eight years, serving two consecutive terms in office. Biden’s political career came to a rather dramatic end not long after he suspended his re-election campaign following pressure from Democratic Party colleagues and even a few celebrities.
