Sydney Sweeney Clinches New Major Movie Deal

Hollywood superstar Sydney Sweeney is all set to star in an upcoming film called “Hollow,” a film adaptation of Lindsey Anderson Beer’s debut novel and reimagining of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” However, Sweeney isn’t just starring in the movie, she’ll also be producing it. The film will be the first project produced through the American Eagle jeans model’s new company, Honey Trap, in conjunction with Beer’s Lab Brew banner.

Beer is on tap to write the screenplay adaptation of her book and direct the film, which has been put on a fast-track to be released in fall 2027. Sweeney will be playing the part of Katrina Van Tassel, according to reports from Deadline. The story is about a love triangle between school teacher Ichabod Crane as he competes for Van Tassel’s love with Brom Bones.

Early reports say the story will blend elements of gothic film and literature with characteristics of an erotic thriller. So basically, it’s the usual Sydney Sweeney affair that has become an integral part of her artistic wheelhouse. The film package is expected to be shopped out to various studios sometime this week, according to Deadline.

The Daily Caller reported that Sweeney just completed her role in the smash HBO series “Euphoria” after three seasons. Prior film roles for the actress include “The Housemaid,” “Chrissy,” and “Anyone But You.” The popular star recently responded to claims made by radical liberals that she’s a “MAGA Barbie,” revealing that she rarely ever pays attention to comments of that nature.

Sweeney, who sat down with Cosmopolitan for an interview, also said that many individuals on social media attempted to user her as a political “pawn” and that happens with both liberals and conservatives. She explained that she has no interest at all in discussing how she votes with the general public or in the media. I’ve never been here to talk about politics,” she said.

“I’ve always been here to make art, so this is just not a conversation I want to be at the forefront of. And I think because of that, people want to take it even further and use me as their own pawn. But it’s somebody else assigning something to me, and I can’t control that,” Sweeney added. The outlet then asked her why she doesn’t correct claims that she’s a “MAGA Barbie.”

“I haven’t figured it out. I’m not a hateful person. If I say, ‘That’s not true,’ they’ll come at me like, ‘You’re just saying that to look better.’ There’s no winning. There’s never any winning. I just have to continue being who I am, because I know who I am. I can’t make everyone love me. I know what I stand for,” she replied. Sweeney first became a target in the culture wars when her American Eagle jeans ad first came out in 2025.

The controversial “great genes/jeans” ad ruffled the feathers of radical liberals who claimed the ad promoted white supremacy. According to an earlier report from The American Tribune, Sweeney refused to comment on the ad at the time. President Donald Trump commented on the ad after finding out the actress is a registered Republican, saying, “I think her ad is fantastic.”
