The Secret Service has opened an investigation into a nurse after she made a video that went viral appearing to show her saying she wanted to take a trip to the nation’s capital and stab President Donald Trump in the throat. The video, shared on May 31, 2026, by Right Angle News Network, shows a woman who has now been identified as Rhonda Lee saying, “God, please kill this motherf***er. He needs to f***ing die. I’ve never felt like that about anyone.”

Lee, whose LinkedIn account revealed she worked at University of Michigan Medical Center starting in 2000, but has not worked there since 2023, then stated, “Given my profession, it’s counterintuitive but you know what? F— that guy. He f***ing needs to die.” And the crazy didn’t end there, as Lee added, “I have never been a violent person, but I’m about to drive up there with my godd*** neck knife and give that motherf***er a smiley face across his godd*** neck. F**k him. I hate that b***h.”

Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications for the United States Secret Service, gave a statement to Fox News saying, “The U.S. Secret Service continuously monitors information streams to support our protective intelligence mission.” He then said, “Due to the sensitive nature of this work, we are unable to confirm or comment on specific threat cases.”

“However, anything that could be perceived as a threat to the President or any Secret Service protectee is taken extremely seriously and investigated thoroughly,” Guglielmi added. Mary Masson, senior director of public relations at Michigan Medicine also gave Fox a statement, saying that Lee has not worked at the facility since 2023.

“We are cooperating with law enforcement to provide any information helpful to their investigation,” Masson stated. Users on social media platform X had strong feelings about the video, with one user writing, “She needs to lose her license to practice medicine, be arrested and FIRED.” Another person had an even stronger response.

“Um, someone with that level of HATE in her heart to post a video for The World to see/hear should NEVER, EVER be allowed to provide in home care for elderly patients or any patients for that matter… In fact, she shouldn’t even be allowed to be around 4-legged animals!! She is what HATE is and looks like!!!!!” the person commented, according to Yahoo News.

Another commenter noted, “What is it about nurses and teachers? They used to be people to look up to. Now they act like psychopaths.” The comment is in reference to the growing number of nurses all over the nation who have posted videos to social media wishing harm on Trump and members of his administration. One nurse from Florida posted on TikTok calling for foreign governments, including China and the U.K. to launch an attack on the U.S. in order to remove the Trump “regime.”

Another nurse from California shared her disappointment that President Trump was not successfully assassinated in the April shooting that took place during the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. White House spokesman Davis Ingle commented on the phenomenon, saying, “Anyone who engages in or endorses political violence or assassination culture must be condemned in the harshest terms possible. They should also immediately seek psychiatric help to treat their severe and debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has warped their brains and made them sick in the head.”
