AOC Gets Humiliated by Apathetic Crowd During Speech Disaster While Wearing Hijab

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) found herself the subject of massive backlash that conservatives took and transformed into a massive pile-on after the New York Democrat got on stage in the Bronx for Eid al-Adha celebrations, which ultimately turned out to be one of the most embarrassing moments of her political career.

A video from the event shows AOC talking to a crowd while dressed in a hijab, which is a traditional headscarf worn by many Islamic women. Critics started chopping away at the New York Democrat, slamming her for hypocrisy, stating that she spends a lot of her time bashing the “patriarchy” and talking about women being oppressed by men, while also sporting a garment they claim is connected to strict religious rules in other parts of the world.

The clip, which is now going viral, was captured at Eid al-Adha celebrations being held in the Bronx, which falls inside of Ocasio-Cortez’s district. She has been the representative for the area since 2019 and is one of the most recognized faces of the radical left-wing of the Democrat Party, providing plenty of ridiculous material that has become fodder for conservatives.

According to a report from Trending Politics News, Ocasio-Cortez was sharing the stage with newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist, who can be seen standing behind her in the footage. Mamdani, who is himself Muslim and strongly anti-Israel, wore a kurta, a traditional garment that is commonly worn in parts of South Asia. It’s designed to look like the uniform of his favorite soccer team, Arsenal, which just won the English championship.

Conservatives wasted no time in skewering AOC, making the case that the New York Democrat’s message of “solidarity” didn’t line up with rhetoric she’s used in the past. Others mocked the whole scene itself, saying the crowd talked over her as she delivered her address and were more focused on their own conversations than anything she had to say. When media outlets reached out to her office for comment, they did not immediately respond.

Ocasio-Cortez, who claims to be a Catholic, was slammed by one individual on social media who wrote, “AOC wearing a hijab exposes the total moral bankruptcy of the radical left.” Another said, “This theatrical Marxist simpleton screams about patriarchy while cosplaying in a garment mandated by brutal theocracies. The Iranian morality police execute women over this exact covering. Yet this lobotomised progressive parasite treats their subjugation as a trendy accessory,”

Someone else went on to write that she “betrayed every American woman” by wearing the hijab. “This is a disgusting display of an ideology that enslaves women. Shame on her!!” added the same person. Mamdani stated in a post published on Instagram, “Today, as we honour Prophet Ibrahim, Eid al-Adha reminds us that sacrifice is not a burden. It is an opportunity to see ourselves as part of something larger. To extend a hand to those who need it most.”

“I am honoured to be New York City’s first Muslim Mayor, and I am determined to lead through solidarity. Together, we are working to ensure every New Yorker can afford the groceries, housing, and child care they need,” he continued. Mamdani’s post garnered over 1.2 million likes, with one person saying, “Mayor, this is one of the most wild Eid fits I’ve ever seen.”
