In yet another ridiculous stunt of an interview in which he made a total fool of himself, far-left Trump critic Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) went on a berserk rant in which he claimed that President Trump is facing his doom because he has lost his ability to control Republican lawmakers. Such came on Friday, May 29, when Raskin appeared on MS NOW’s “Deadline.”
For reference, while Trump is having trouble with a number of RINO senators and Establishment GOP hacks, particularly in passing the SAVE America Act, the reality is that he is far from seeing his support base or power crumbling. In reality, he is notching major wins against the RINOs who oppose him, such as Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), both of whom were defeated by Trump-backed candidates.
In any case, Rep. Raskin melted down in a lengthy tirade and temper tantrum about the president on the network formerly known as MSBNC. Doing so, Rep. Raskin began by insisting that “the bottom is falling out” for Trump, a facially untrue claim. He said, “There are over a dozen Republicans who have spoken out about this, and I’m starting to think that the bottom is falling out for Donald Trump in terms of his ability to micromanage and control everybody in the Republican caucus.”
Continuing, he insisted, once again against the evidence, given how the primaries went, that the public is frustrated with Trump’s efforts to unseat RINOs. He said, incorrectly and bizarrely, “I don’t think this can stand. I think the public clamor against it and the rapidly growing opposition within Congress means that we’re going to be able to stop it, and it violates essential constitutional principles. Almost everything about this slush fund violates the constitution and the rule of law.”
Still not done, Raskin went utterly berserk over the news that Trump has settled a major lawsuit against the IRS over its leaking his tax returns in exchange for the establishment of a fund that will help repay MAGA-allied victims of past federal lawfare. He said, “The domestic Emoluments Clause says in Article II that the president is limited to his official salary in office. They may not take any other funds from the federal government.”
Continuing on that same point and obviously upset that the Deep State wouldn’t be able to financially ruin MAGA supporters with lawfare any longer, Raskin then insisted, “And now suddenly, he’s engaged in this self-dealing settlement operation, where he’s going to get nearly $1.8 billion to give away to anybody he wants, including his political foot soldiers.”
Concluding with a pat on the back for RINOs who are refusing to work with the president and a total refusal to face the fact that such RINOs are being rejected at the polling station, Raskin said, “It’s incredible that he holds himself completely above the law. But the good news is there seems to be a profound political and cultural backlash happening to this. And when Todd Blanche went over to talk to the Republicans, they just gave him hell.”
