WATCH: American Worker Tells Wild Story Of Calling ICE on a Restaurant to Get a Job There

A TikTok video is going viral on social media platforms featuring a man who claims that the reason he got a job at a restaurant he really wanted to work at is because he reported the establishment to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) which resulted in half the staff getting fired. In the clip, the man states that the restaurant had no openings at the time, which is why he reported them to ICE. He was later hired by the restaurant.

However, the man is now concerned that his co-workers are going to find out he was the one who turned them in, a reasonable fear considering he just made a video, with his face in full view, confessing to the act. He says in the video that he was rejected when he first applied due to the restaurant being fully staffed. Three days after he left the tip for ICE, a raid allegedly went down resulting in 12 employees being taken away by ICE.

“Two weeks ago I made an anonymous tip to an ICE office about a restaurant I had applied to that rejected my application. Three days later, there was a raid on that restaurant, and 12 of their employees were deported,” the man says in the viral video. “I did this because I really wanted to work at that restaurant, but they were full staff, so I figured what better way to like get an opening again than to have half of their staff deported.”

“So that’s what I did,” the man states matter-of-factly. “When I reapplied, I got hired, and I’ve been working there a few days, but now I’m worried that they’re going to find out that I was the one who called and had half of their staff deported. For anyone who’s been in a similar situation, was there some way you were able to soften the blow ahead of time, or kind of like get them used to the idea that maybe, like, an employee here got everyone deported?”

“Who knows? I’m just seeking advice because I do like a lot of my coworkers, and I don’t want them to hate me or think I’m a bad person or something,” he concludes. According to a post published by We Got This Covered, theories abound that, perhaps, this video is fake and is simply some guy trolling or being satirical concerning hot button political topics. His actual account, according to the article, is full of videos mocking people on both sides of the spectrum.

Others think it’s genuine or at least support the action the man claims to have taken in order to free up jobs for Americans. One user on X said, “They broke the law to get in and you followed the law to get them out. Crime doesn’t pay. It is what it is. Sure you could say he is a snitch but these people will come in and take everything if you let them.”

Another individual commented, “Just think, if they had properly hired legal workers, this would not have affected them. Modern problems require modern solutions.” Someone else courteously answered the man’s query in the video, replying, “Well maybe start by NOT posting about it on X!” A valid point that many others also made.
