Speaking to Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” show on Thursday, May 28, Los Angeles Mayoral race candidate Spencer Pratt revealed that the policies of his opponent, Karen Bass, are so bad that he is being supported by both Democrats and Republicans alike in his effort to unseat her and restore some sanity to the city.
As background, Pratt’s campaign came organically in the wake of the horrible Pacific Palisades fires. He lived in the neighborhood, which was decimated by wildfires that the city did nothing to effectively contain or combat, and his home was burned to cinders by the fires. He then set about fighting against the city’s terrible policies by running to be mayor and fix them.
According to Pratt, that campaign is already having some success in garnering support to fight the insanity. In fact, Pratt told Fox & Friends, though he is a registered Republican, his campaign is supported by Democrats and Republicans alike, with Democrats doing a great deal to fill his campaign coffers.
Making that point, Pratt noted, on the matter of his political donations, “I’m a registered Republican, but my supporters are all Democrats because Los Angeles is all Democrats. All the people financing me are Democrats. All the meetings I take every day are Democrats. Democrats are very angry with what happened in Los Angeles.”
Continuing, Pratt noted that this is a non-partisan matter, as really it is just about sane governance. He said, “It’s a nonpartisan race. There’s no letter next to either of our names, because the mayor is not supposed to represent a party. They’re supposed to make sure your moms are safe, your houses don’t burn down, and your tax money is going to your infrastructure not to fund drug addicts.”

That wasn’t all. Pratt also explained that he doesn’t even see this as a race that fits into national politics, as it is about fixing the utter crisis that LA is in. He said, “I don’t do national politics. I don’t do parties. I just say, look, they’re stealing all of our tax money to give it to drug addicts, to have needles and tourniquets, and they’re actually even selling the drugs to these addicts to let these people die on our sidewalks.”
Continuing on that point, he noted that he thinks drug dealers should be stopped, and that those hooked on such narcotics should be provided with medical treatment that gets them off them, rather than allowed to remain addicted to such substances. He said, “I want to be the compassionate one. Get these people mandatory treatment, medical treatment with doctors to help them get off of fentanyl and super meth.”
He also noted that the present government has spent tax dollars so irresponsibly as to make the city’s problems worse, something that would end on his watch. He said, “These people have failed us. They’ve spent all of our tax money to increase problems… I never wanted to be the mayor. I just wanted somebody to tell the truth.”
