Fox News is getting dragged on social media by MAGA supporters and Republicans for bringing Sen. John Cornyn on the air for an interview on the day of the primary election where he squared off against Attorney General Ken Paxton in the GOP primary race for his Texas Senate seat. Many feel the move was tantamount to pushing for Cornyn over Paxton, who is the MAGA choice and has received the endorsement of President Donald Trump.
A video clip of the interview being passed around social media platform X starts with Fox News host Lawrence B. Jones playing a clip of the Democratic nominee, James Talarico, making a series of controversial statements about the nature of God, one in particular, delivered during a general lecture, in which he stated that there are more than six biological sexes and that “God is both masculine and feminine, and everything in between.”
Talarico then said that God, the Creator of the universe, is non-binary. “I have met so many Hindus, Buddhists, Sikh, Jews, Muslims, atheists, agnostics, who are more Christ-like than some of the Christians I serve with in the Texas legislature,” Talarico said in the clip. “Our southern border should be like our front porch. There should be a giant welcome mat out front and a lock on the door,” he said later.
After the clip ended, Jones said, “So, Senator, with respect, I can’t see Talarico beating you or the Attorney General.” Cornyn responded, “Well, the problem is, Lawrence, that Ken Paxton will be on defense the whole time between now and November. If he is the nominee, it’ll take hundreds of millions of dollars to try to save him, and it’s likely not to be successful, because the mainstream media loves Talarico.”
Cornyn then compared the rise of the Democratic nominee in popularity to that of former Congressman Beto O’Rourke. “It’s like the second coming of Beto O’Rourke, and you remember what that was like. So I can help the ticket, I can help down ballot. I know the president cares a lot about the congressional races that are right below the Senate race, and I won by 10 points in 2020.”
“So I think I could be the most help to the president and his agenda in the last two years of his term of office, and all the down ballot races, and Ken Paxton will be an albatross. He could well lose, but even if he doesn’t lose, he will win by such a razor-thin margin that is likely to have a negative drag on the down-ball races in Texas – judges, local officials, House of Representatives, you name it. So, I think I can help, and that’s the reason I decided to run,” Cornyn told Jones during the interview.
Jones finished up the interview with one last question, asking Cornyn if he would support the ticket even if he lost against Paxton. “That’s what I’ve said, Lawrence. I’ll support the ticket. I’m a Republican. I’ve worked most of my life to build the Republican Party.” However, folks on X were not too happy with Fox for bringing Cornyn on the air.

One individual wrote, “I won’t vote for a RINO ever again. Talarico can have it if Cornyn wins. They both support amnesty and restrictions on our 2nd Amendment rights.” Another commented, “Fox is the home of RINOs, not MAGA! The party of the Bushes and Karl Rove that are all working behind the scenes to thwart the Trump agenda and get to their globalist theft and selling out of America. Obvious!”
