RINO Has Panic Attack Over Banning Foreign Born Citizens from Congress

In the wake of news that Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) planned to introduce a joint resolution on Wednesday, May 20, that would ban foreign-born citizens from serving in Congress, whether as senators or representatives, or from being judges or Senate-confirmed appointees, supposed conservative Scott Jennings totally freaked out online.

Rep. Mace, commenting on the matter of her resolution, which would affect more than a dozen members of Congress who aren’t natural-born citizens, most of them Democrats, in a statement to Fox News, “If you hold power in the American government, you should be a natural-born American citizen. For too long we have allowed foreign-born members to hold seats in this government, while making clear their loyalty is not here. We see it every day.”

Further, Mace said, in her statement to Fox News Digital, “Ilhan Omar is just one of many foreign-born members of this government who have made clear, time and again, their loyalty is not here. The American people deserve leaders who put America first. This amendment closes a gap in our Constitution long overdue for closing.”

Turley went totally ballistic about the news in an angry, fist-shaking post on X in which he said, “I strongly disagree with the push for a constitutional amendment to bar foreign-born legislators. While I have suggested the possible, I cannot think of anything more antithetical to our founding than barring foreign-born citizens from Congress. As a nation of immigrants, it is a reaffirmation of our heritage to have these citizens serve in government…”

Continuing his meltdown over the various lawmakers who would be booted from Congress, some of them good and some of them not, he then said, “…Such an amendment would bar members ranging from Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, to Victoria Spartz, R-Ind. to Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., to Young Kim, R-Calif.. Regardless of their politics or controversies, they represent inspiring achievements in their communities and a reaffirmation of our core values.”

Most absurdly, Turley then went on to claim that America’s Founding Fathers, most of whom were landed gentlemen who had been in America for many generations, were “immigrants”. He said, “…The founders themselves were immigrants and many foreign-born citizens have served with great distinction in our military and our government.”

Finally concluding, the commentator then said, “…It is certainly true that presidents are limited to natural-born citizens. That has been controversial throughout our history, but there is an obvious difference between a president and one of 535 members. There was a desire to limit the presidency in light of the inherent powers of that position.”

Angry commenters on Turley’s post said things like, “We are not a nation of immigrants. Our nation was founded by settlers, explorers and conquerors. The immigrants who came later have become the parasites on our country” and “Immigrants coming here now aren’t building a country, they’re coming to an economic zone. Many do not share our values or respect our history.”

Another said, “I think you’re in the minority on this one. I usually agree with you. A few òf them who are currently in office spoiled it for the rest of them. It isn’t their bad politics that I object to. It’s that so many of them want to change our country and have an obvious disdain for our culture. I’m done with them.”
