Rich Hollywood Elites, Including De Niro and “Hanoi Jane” Fonda, Push “Economic Blackout” To Attack Trump

Far-left Hollywood actors Mark Ruffalo and Robert De Niro were among the “elites” pushing for an “economic blackout” to bolster radical liberal activists on May Day. In a video montage, De Niro stated, “Our country runs because of working people, not the billionaires or the politicians.” Ruffalo shared the video on his social media platforms.

The video then showcased other famous people — all of them in the wealthy class — who all finished each other’s sentences. “And when people come together, we can make our voices heard,” actress Jane “Hanoi Jane” Fonda, who was labeled a traitor for her anti-war protests in the 1970s, said in the next clip. Fonda is notorious for having done a photo shoot in North Vietnam, where she sat on a gun used to kill American pilots.

Next up in the video is Stacy Davis Gates, who serves as the president of the Chicago Teachers Union, who said, “Our American History shows us that when we move together, we win, we expand, we diversify. And today will be no different. It will take millions of us refusing business as usual to force this change.” The video then cuts to Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure actor Alex Winter.

“This May Day, we’re calling for a worker over billionaires national day of action, showing solidarity with labor in our communities, across our country, and against fascism,” Winter said. Then viewers are treated to more Fonda, who stated, “No work. No school. No shopping.” Actress and singer Bette Midler pops up and says, “Refuse business as usual, and let’s force a change.”

According to Breitbart News, David Huerta, the president of Service Employees International Union United Service Workers West, added his two cents, saying, “This is our moment to harness the power that we have to disrupt an unjust system and regime who are racially profiling and attacking our immigrant communities, waging illegal wars, devastating our environment, and seeking to destroy our democracy.”

The footage then makes its way back around to De Niro who asked viewers to “Join us on May 1st,” explaining that “Everyone has a part to play.” Winter comes back up and adds, “Show up in your community, attend a rally or march, bring a friend.” Midler, who has an estimated net worth of $250 million, then stated, “Workers over billionaires. This Friday, May 1st, we’re going to hit them in their pocketbooks, which is the only thing they care about.”

The article then pointed out that folks who push for communism or spew anti-capitalist rhetoric often start off slamming both millionaires and billionaires until they themselves become millionaires, then all of their activism turns to being critical of only billionaires. Actor and comedian Rob Schneider, an outspoken Catholic conservative, posted a response to the video on X.

“Millionaire ACTORS ALWAYS know what is best for people they live far away from while they live behind gates in guard gated communities,” the actor sarcastically noted. For those who might not be aware, “May Day” is an international holiday that celebrates International Workers’ Day. It’s become a big hit within socialist and communist movements.
