Former FBI Director James Comey released a video throwing a fit over being indicted by the Justice Department once again, this time over a photograph in which he posted a caption that called for the murder of President Donald Trump. In the video clip, Comey attempted to downplay the significance of the social media post, but is clearly agitated by the Trump administration’s pursuit of justice in the matter.
“Well, they’re back,” Comey said at the start of the now-viral video clip being shared across various social media platforms. “This time about a picture of seashells taken on a North Carolina beach a year ago. And this won’t be the end of it. But nothing has changed with me,” he said, adding, “I’m still innocent. I’m still not afraid. And I still believe in the independent federal judiciary, so let’s go.”
Comey then encouraged his supporters, which are likely very few in number, that, “It’s really important that all of us remember this is not who we are as a country. This is not how the Department of Justice is supposed to be.” He concluded by saying, “And the good news is, we get closer every day to restoring those values. Keep the faith.”
According to a report from The Guardian, the photograph he posted in 2025 featured seashells arranged in numbers to say “86 47,” which the Justice Department has identified as a threat against President Trump, who is the 47th president of the United States. The indictment, which was made public on April 28, 2026, stated that a reasonable individual would interpret the photo “as a serious expression of an interest to do harm to the President of the United States.”
Comey said that when he took the photo, he was under the impression that the numbers reflected a political message, not a call to violence against the president. As soon as he saw some individuals commenting on the violent connotations the message contained, he took the post down. “It never occurred to me,” Comey said, according to The Guardian. “But I oppose violence of any kind, so I took the post down.”
This is the second DOJ indictment for the disgraced former FBI director. He was indicted last year and charged with lying to Congress concerning the role he played in cooking up the Russian collusion hoax against Trump during his first presidential campaign. Ultimately, the case was tossed out by a judge in the Eastern District of Virginia.
The comments on Comey’s video on Facebook were celebratory of his latest indictment, with some cracking jokes at his expense. One user comically wrote, “Sandy saw seashells at the seashore. Oh wait no that was James Comey. Seriously though guys. Have you never seen the ocean waves wash up seashells and perfectly align them into numerical order of death??”

Another individual wisecracked, “I think it’s funny that he’s now ‘shelling’ out money for an attorney!” A third user pointed out that the term “86” has always been military terminology for termination. “Sorry but it truly means to terminate! It has been that way in the military and other venues of enforcement for years! Such as FBI, DEA, Marshal, And State-level Law enforcement! The Mob even used that term!”
