Several days after yet another attempt was made on President Donald Trump’s life, folks on the left have started pushing a series of conspiracy theories suggesting that the whole event was set up by the president as a means of raising his approval ratings. One of the leading advocates of pushing this theory is actress Mia Farrow.
Farrow got on Democratic echo chamber Bluesky, a leftist version of popular social media platform X, where she published posts pushing the theory that Cole Tomas Allen, 31, who ran full steam ahead through a metal detector and shooting a Secret Service agent smack in the chest during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, was part of a plan by Trump himself to “raise his approval ratings.”
“He is forcing us to wonder ‘he has lost a war he is unable to end & is now so desperate to raise his approval ratings, would he …..’ ?” Mia Farrow said in her post on April 26, 2026. The post also included a link to an article from the Economist. The actress also included a number of quotes that didn’t come from the article she shared.
According to a report from Breitbart News, many of Farrow’s followers agreed with her take on the matter, with one writing, “I call bulls**t.” Another individual said, “I think it was a false flag.” A third commented, “All planned.” Conservatives have been quick to point out when individuals on the right have suggested certain tragic events in the past were “false flags,” the left condemned them as nutty right-wing conspiracy theorists.
Allen, who donated money to former Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 failed presidential campaign, is the third person to try assassinating President Trump. A report from CBS News revealed that one of Allen’s relatives “called police before last night’s event at the White House Correspondents Association dinner.” During an interview the day after the incident, Trump referred to Allen as a “sick guy.”
The suspect is expected to face several serious federal charges. And as it turns out, Farrow has a lengthy track record of spreading conspiracy theories. In February 2026, the actress suggested that the president either murdered or had Ghislaine Maxwell, the lover and partner of convicted pedophile and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, replaced with a body double.
“Crazy question but, could they have swapped Ghislaine for a similar but not identical looking British woman? Trump might have freed her. Or killed her?” Farrow went on to say at the time. Law enforcement officials investigating the assassination attempt say that a manifesto penned by Allen revealed that he was targeting Trump administration officials.

Authorities also revealed that they found a bunch of other writings at his home in Torrance, California, and in his 10th floor hotel room at the Washington Hilton Hotel, where the dinner was held. Allen was found armed with a shotgun, handgun, and several knives. It is currently believed that he acted alone, according to police. President Trump returned to the White House following the incident where he held a press conference praising officers for their quick response and stating the dinner would be rescheduled.
