New reports have emerged claiming that California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom spent north of a billion dollars to import a staggering 400,000 illegal aliens from poor nations to help grease the wheels of the Golden State’s Democratic political machine and economy. The data backing the claim was provided by the Manhattan Institute located in New York.
“Since Newsom took office, California has granted massive contracts for migrant-related services: more than $250 million to Catholic Charities; $85 million to Jewish Family Services; $12 million to Centro Legal de la Raza; $23 million to the Immigration Institute of the Bay Area; and more,” Christopher Rufe wrote in an article that was published by City Journal.
And that’s not all the cash that was spent to bring illegal immigrants into California. Additional federal funds were directed to the project by former President Joe Biden’s pro-migration border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas. The Golden State’s Democrat-run government also pointed $110 million to the Latino political machine, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights Los Angeles, also known as CHIRLA.
According to a report from Breitbart News, quoting bits of information from Rufe’s article, CHIRLA is described as being a one-stop activist machine that has the capabilities to produce propaganda, engage in legal action, and bring illegal aliens to American cities. The group works in close partnership with the L.A. Rapid Response Network.
For those unfamiliar with LARRN, the organization helps track Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and operations and engages in “direct action to shut down detention centers.” When waves of protests broke out in Los Angeles, CHIRLA activists took to social media to engage in online agitation, led street protests, and issued calls for a “Summer of Resistance.”
When the unrest hit its boiling point, CHIRLA’s executive director, Angelica Salas, delivered an address at a street protest, telling volatile attendees that ICE officers were conducting a “militarized siege” against illegal aliens. “We are going to stop Trump’s terror campaign against our community,” Salas went on to say. “We will not stop marching. We will not stop fighting.”
Rufe’s article, which is titled, “How Gavin Newsom Subsidized the Migrant Invasion,” concludes by noting that “the 2 million illegal migrants in California are pawns — merely the instruments of an activist class that would like to see America burn.” The Breitbart report goes further and points out that Newsom and other Democrats want to use illegal migrants as a means of regaining and keeping political power.

“Like in New York, Boston, Denver, and Minneapolis, California’s Democratic machine wants more low-wage migrants because the migrants serve as customers for the state’s education and welfare agencies,” the report explains. “In time, the multi-ethnic migrant customers become clients, beneficiaries, and dependents of the multi-ethnic machine, and will eventually repay the machine with Democratic votes once they are gradually naturalized.”
Another nefarious purpose for Newsom bringing in massive numbers of illegal immigrants is to help serve the interests of his business allies, providing them with low-wage workers, welfare-aided consumers, and apartment-sharing renters. They also provide the liberal “elite” class with low-cost services such as manicures, gardening, and car washes.
