Things got entertaining during a Department of Justice press conference as Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel got in a shouting match with a woke reporter, slamming the reporter’s claims as false and lie-filled during an argument about a recent report in The Atlantic regarding his drinking habits.
As background, The Atlantic tried to attack Director Patel in much the same way that the media complex once tried to attack now-Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, using anonymous and unverified claims about his drinking habits to present him as an irresponsible loose cannon and thus discredit him.
Particularly, The Atlantic’s explosive article cited anonymous sources as claiming that Patel had consumed alcohol “to the point of obvious intoxication” in front of White House officials, and claimed that members of his staff have “had difficulty waking Patel because he was seemingly intoxicated.”
Patel derided the claims from the woke media outlet as utterly false during the Tuesday, April 21 press briefing. He declared that he knows he is doing a good job when the fake news starts trying to slander him, saying, “I can say unequivocally that I never listen to the fake news mafia, and as when they get louder, it just means I’m doing my job.”
Further, when pressed on a video of him drinking a beer with the US Men’s Hockey Team that drove the pearl-clutchers insane, Patel said, “I’m on the job. I’m the first one in. I’m the last one out. I’m like an everyday American who loves his country, loves the sport of hockey, and champions my friends when they raise a gold medal and invite me in to celebrate.”
He added, commenting on his lawsuit against The Atlantic and the reality of how he is doing the job, “I’ve never been intoxicated on the job, and that is why we filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit. And any one of you that wants to participate, bring it on, I’ll see you in court.”
Then, at another point, NBC’s Ryan Reilly pressed him on a claim that he was unable to log into his government computer, and Patel shot back, in what devolved into a shouting match between the FBI Director and the woke reporter, that the fake news’s reporting “is an absolute lie”.

He declared, “The problem with you and your baseless reporting is that is an absolute lie. It was never said. It never happened. And I will serve in this administration as long as the president and the Attorney General, want me to do so.” Patel then snapped at Reilly, “you are off topic.”
The shouting and angry questioning continued, leading to Patel further telling Reilly, “The answer to your question is you are lying … I’ve answered your question. It’s simply as follows, I was never locked out of my systems.” Reilly, however, kept pressing Patel on the matter, misrepresenting the facts to try to make him look bad.
Watch them here:
In fact, Reilly’s annoying antics got so bad that Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche then intervened, snapping that the reporter was being “extraordinarily rude”. Blanche also commented on the drinking matter, saying, “I have a lot of concerns, and my concerns are completely around the anonymous reporting that comes forth constantly. Reporters have an obligation to report, and they have due diligence that they’re supposed to do. And when an entire article is based on anonymous sources, and there’s things in the article suggesting, for example, apparently, that senior DOJ personnel were informed of something. That’s me. I wasn’t informed. No one called me about that.”
