WATCH: Congressional Hearing Goes Off the Rails as Raging Democrat Starts Screaming At Trump Official, Waves His Arms Wildly

Things got absolutely wild and quite entertaining in the House Committee on Financial Services back in February, when Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent had to deal with a wildly screaming Democrat, Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.), slinging invective his way in a ridiculous but funny temper tantrum that took the hearing totally off the rails.

The hearing was supposed to be about financial stability in America, and occurred in the first week of February. Rep. Meeks, not really sticking to the subject, instead decided to accuse President Trump of a slew of bizarre forms of corruption, then to start wildy screaming at Sec. Bessent while gesticulating like an enraged harpy.

Rep. Meeks said, introducing the corruption question, “Now Mr. Secretary, I’m sure you can agree that conflicts of interest and improper influence by U.S. elected officials over bank regulators weaken supervisory independence and ultimately impose massive losses on consumers and taxpayers, I think we can all agree to that.”

Continuing, the Democrat went on to insist that a “foreign asset firm” with ties to the United Arab Emirates “quietly bought about half of the Trump family’s crypto company, World Liberty Financial, and at the very same time, the president of the United States was dealing with that country on foreign policy.”

Still not done, the rambling Democrat insisted that the president’s family being involved in business deals is a “national security concern,” insisting, “This is no longer just about a shady crypto deal or a possible gift. When a foreign-linked investor is putting hundreds of millions of dollars into a company controlled by the president’s family and at the same time this president is conducting foreign policy with that country. You know what that creates? A national security concern.”

Not done, Rep. Meeks then demanded that Secretary Bessent ensure there are no conflicts of interest involved in the deal, and to investigate foreign influence on the president, then to share those Treasury investigations into the president with Congress. “All I need to know is, will you halt it and do a complete investigation and scrutiny of this license application?” Meeks demanded.

Bessent then tried to answer but Meeks interrupted him, snapping, “All you have to do is say yes or no.” Bessent, annoyed, noted that the New York Congressman had been involved with lobbying on behalf of a major donor when on a trip to socialist Venezuela two decades ago, exposing Rep. Meeks’s alleged corruption.

As could be expected, that set Rep. Meeks off. He exploded with a vengeance, insisting, “I take that as a no. You do not want to answer that question…I’m asking you to do your responsibility.” That’s when he really started screaming, shouting in immense fury while waving his arms wildly and declaring, “Stop covering for the president. Stop being a flunky.”

Secretary Bessent was unperturbed by the absurd and ridiculous performance, and just sat with a grin as the New York Congressman had his ridiculous temper tantrum about the matter. Watch it happen here:
