“That’s a Felony”: James Comer Goes Nuclear on Ilhan Omar, Exposes Why She’s At Risk of Felony Prosecution [WATCH]

Speaking to Fox News Channel’s Hannity on Monday, April 20, House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) turned up the heat on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and warned that she is at risk of felony prosecution over her dramatic financial disclosure swings and lack of transparency regarding her wealth.

In fact, Rep. Comer argued, the official story coming out of her office makes absolutely no sense  and needs to be investigated, as does her seemingly close connections to some of the Minnesota Somali scammers involved in fraud schemes targeting programs like “Feeding Our Future”.

As background, Rep. Omar revised her and her husband’s net worth downward from an estimated $30 million to less than $100,000 after an explosion in public interest in how she gained so much wealth so quickly, claiming that it had simply been a mistake that showed she had suddenly become so wealthy. Comer didn’t believe it.

Kicking off that commentary on the matter during his Monday appearance on Hannity, Rep. Comer first noted that no one in their right mind could make such a massive error on their financial disclosure form, and the claim that it was a mistake just isn’t believable. “Who makes a multimillion-dollar mistake on their financial disclosure form?” Comer said.

Continuing, Comer took a jab at the massive Somali migrant in Minnesota that has proven to be such a major albatross for Democrats in the state, joking that Rep. Omar’s accountant must have attended the infamous “Quality Learing Center”. He said, “Either her accountant went to one of those ‘Quality Learing Centers’ in Minnesota, or she lied about it.”

Then, after that entertaining joke, Comer got back to being deadly serious about what happened, saying, “If she lied about it, that’s a felony.” He also noted, describing why the official story her office is promulgating makes no sense, “If she made a mistake, [she never explained] how the mistake happened. It’s not possible.”

Continuing on that same point, he explained why the whole thing is nonsensical, noting the amount of review that goes into such a financial disclosure, “You review that financial disclosure form. Before you hit enter, you enter all the assets in, and then it pops up and you review it, and you hit it again, so it’s highly unlikely that she made the mistake.”

Additionally, Comer vowed that Ilhan Omar would not be allowed or able to skate away from this scandal, saying, “This isn’t going to go away from her, so we’re going to continue to try to push for answers and see if her name pops up in any of these frauds that Vice President Vance and the House Oversight Committee are detecting in Minnesota.”

    Watch him here:

Ilhan Omar’s spokesperson, Jacklyn Rogers, claimed in comments to the Wall Street Journal that the new disclosures vindicate Omar, saying, “The amended disclosure confirms what we’ve said all along: The congresswoman is not a millionaire.” Further, Omar’s attorney insisted, “While the error is, of course, unfortunate, there is nothing untoward, and nothing illegal has occurred.”
