Speaking during an appearance on Fox News Channel, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer went nuclear on Rep. Ilhan Omar and declared that she should be “fired” as yet more financial scandals continue to tumble out of her office, with the problem this time being that she is once again trying to revise her congressional financial disclosures.
For reference, Rep. Emmer (R-MN) appeared on “The Big Weekend Show” to discuss what is going with Rep. Ilhan Omar (R-MN) after her congressional financial disclosures were, reports on the matter claim, revised downward from an estimated $30 million to less than $100,000 after an explosion in public interest in how she gained so much wealth so quickly.
That came after The Wall Street Journal published a report showing that Omar had once again revalued her assets, and the new estimate was a range between about $18,000 and $95,000, which was an exceedingly sharp drop from the $6 million and $30 million range that had drawn so much scrutiny and anger.
Rep. Emmer, who spoke on “The Big Weekend Show” on Saturday, April 18, about the matter, explained that he sees Rep. Omar as being a “complete fraud”. He argued, commenting on the matter, “Not only should her accountant be fired, but that girl should be fired and she does not deserve to be in Congress.”
That came after he commented on how absurd and obscene Ilhan Omar’s continuing financial scandals are, saying, “We talk about Ms Omar. I mean, she went from $65,000 net worth that she was reporting on her congressional disclosures to reporting over $30 million in net worth in just a few years. And guess what? Now she comes out and says, ‘Oh, that was a mistake on our disclosures. I just took a quick look at it and missed it.'”
Continuing, Rep. Emmer called out Omar for her seemingly close connections to the fraud, saying, “Quite frankly, if she is discovered to be involved in any of this fraud personally, that she benefited from it, even by her actions of promoting it and trying to resist investigations, she should be held accountable to the fullest extent.”

Rep. James Comer appeared on Fox News on the same Saturday and also sounded off on Omar and commented on whether she would be investigated, saying, “We’re not supposed to do that [investigate it] on the Oversight Committee, but because she’s a person of interest in the Somali fraud, I’ve been trying to get that.”
Continuing, Rep. Comer also noted that she would be made to continue answering questions, saying, “Now that this financial disclosure form has been changed, I think the Ethics Committee has a lot of questions for her, and we’re going to continue to push them to make sure that she has to answer them.”
Ilhan Omar’s spokesperson, Jacklyn Rogers, claimed in comments to the Wall Street Journal that the new disclosures vindicate Omar, saying, “The amended disclosure confirms what we’ve said all along: The congresswoman is not a millionaire.”
