RINOs can be the most annoying people on the planet, and such was certainly the case when a White House reporter from the notoriously RINO-oriented Wall Street Journal tried to use a joke President Trump told about soda to attack the president, a move that led to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt swiftly shutting the reporter down.
The whole thing began when CMS Director Mehmet Oz appeared on Donald Trump Jr.’s “Triggered” podcast to discuss how he is fighting to make America healthier and to crack down on fraud. During the discussion, Oz and Don Jr had a humorous discussion about soda, and President Trump’s views on health.
Oz told Don Jr., “Your dad argues that diet soda is good for him because it kills grass — if poured on grass — so, therefore, it must kill cancer cells inside the body.” He continued, “You know, we were on Air Force One the other day and I walk in there because he wants to talk about something and he’s got an orange soft drink on his desk.”
Dr. Oz then shared a very funny joke that the president made about the soda he was drinking, saying, “And I say, ‘Are you kidding me?’ So, he starts to sheepishly grin and he goes, ‘You know, ‘This stuff’s good for me. It kills cancer cells.’ And then he tells me, ‘It’s fresh-squeezed, so how bad could it be for you?’”
It was a humorous segment, though both men noted that President Trump is in remarkable health for someone his age. Dr. Oz even admitted, “He was in perfect health. I mean, his testosterone, quite frankly, was through the roof — not taking any supplements. And so, as I went through it, it’s uncommon to see that healthy a list of labs of anybody, even if they are eating non-healthy foods.”
In any case, it was about that interaction that the Wall Street Journal reporter, on Wednesday, April 15, pressed White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on what the president really thinks about soda killing cancer cells because it kills grass, taking seriously an offhanded joke about the president’s famous consumption of sodas like Diet Coke.
Leavitt, annoyed for obvious reasons, fired back that the president has a good sense of humor, and is indeed known for that sense of humor. She began, “As we all know in this room, I think you know the president has a very good sense of humor.”

Continuing, she noted that the president has told the soda joke before, and that really the only thing the incident shows is that the Wall Street Journal should get a better sense of humor. She said, “It’s one of his most under reported characteristics, I would say. I have heard him tell this joke before. I think the Wall Street Journal should get a better sense of humor.”
